With the new caps on skills being 125, isn't that a nerf to this great profession?

It's defensive skills. Block/ranged def/melee def/counterattack/etc
It doesn't affect accuracy and such.

I don't think anyone knows or has a definate answer on this.

It would be nice for a definite answer on this. As a pre-patch TKM I could walk into a mob of famished sludges and wreak havoc... Now, post-patch,I must run for my life (unbuffed of course). Just doesnt seem right.

This is my understanding from all the info provided on the forums and about 500 kills of mobs on endor since the patch.


Defence mods ranged/melee no longer stack accross professions, they apply only to the weapon you are weilding, ie if you get +40 melee defence as a pistoleer and +50 as a rifleman, you will have +90 listed in your mods, but in actual fact you will only have 40 with a pistol equipped and 50 with a rifle equipped and nothing with a carbine equipped.


Static defence mods dodge/counter/block/acuity still stack and work no matter what weapon u have equippedbut have a hard cap at +120.

That again is NOT correct please read what the Dev's wrote.


Capped (hard cap of 125) but still stacking as designed.

I can say this, Im a Rifleman/TK/Fencer. Bounty Hunters had a very hard time hitting me. Today I fought one and he landed his first 2 out of 4 shots? That NEVER use to happen pre-patch. Ranged defense has been nerfed folks.

There are 3 primary groups of defenses within this game.



Ranged/Melee defenses...... I think as a community scanning the various threads no one is yet entirely sure if this was capped or not. It does seem to be the case, note the post above. Pre-patch situation the BH wouldn't of landed a shot at all. The cap on these defenses is set to +125.


Ranged / Melee defenses are NOT weapon specific. They stack regardless of weapon used.


Dodge/Counterattack/Block...... These are "secondary defenses" as where ranged/melee defenses are primary defenses. At any rate these particular defenses also still stack, but are capped as well at +125. These defenses are also weapon specific. Meaning the defense only activates if you are using a weapon from a profession that grants you these defenses. Unlike ranged / melee defense.


Defense Vs"X".......... These defenses determine what your "chance" is to be affected by whatever state you have the defense for. For instance having a +50 Defense vs KD, you will have a 50% chance to not be knocked down by such a manuever. These were never deemed to be in any way overpowered by the devs. And as such have not been nerfed at all. In addition per publish 6, we were all given access to defense vs X type foods.

no TKA was not nerfed...infact gain a bonus to hit ranged weapon equippedtargets..if i read that correctly heh


so TKA are infact enhanced this patch

capped at 125? My Melee defense is still +136. I mean, the code might still compute and add ALL my defense together to get that number, but only really equal 125.



Devs, we need some hard answers here!

Just to answer the question in the title of this thread.... no, TKA was not nerfed. A Teras Kasi Master has around 70 melee defense and 45 ranged defense.... and no state defenses are anywhere near 125. (20 knockdown, 30 downposture, 5 dizzy if memory serves me correctly).Stackers are nerfed... TKA is not.


It will be nice to see a couple of these hardcore stackers fight in a setting where people can actuallyhit them. In all honesty, taking on multiple elite classes should not stack the defenses anyway. Your benefit from stacking rifleman and TKA is the versatility of being able to use TKA specials as well as rifleman specials. You are already at an advantage by being able to slap a dizzy and a stun on your opponent from 64 meters, why should you also get the added bonus of being harder to hit whenyou actually DO get in close? Knocking someone down and then stepping back 40meters to shoot them in a head with ajawa ion rifle is benefit enough.


...and forthe love of all that is holy, why does one of the most damaging class in the game who also happens to do some of the best mind damage in the game ALSO get adamage type that is the weakness of pretty much everyone in the game (jawa ion rifle of ultimate imbalance)? There is a reason why everyone is picking up rifleman.Is no one on the developement staff taking notice? Why is a stun pistol popping up?? I could previouslytake onthe BH dabblers that spammed eyeshot on me. Now they might actually kill me due to being handed a stun pistol....

I have to agree that the Jawa Ion rifle and theCombat Medic mind poison are indeed unballanced in PVP.


I dont mind to much and I dont want them to get nerfed but it is a fact.
