Ok , What happens is , word of mouth, everyone starts to think that if you become a TKM you will "PwN Teh Nubs!", and by that i mean they think that if you become a TKM , you can take on anything, When alot of misinformed people see someone out on yavin taking 30 damage from a Black Sun Assassin, and he has his TKM title up, they start to belive that a TKM takes no damage practily and deals it all out, Then they look at the specials, They are even more impressed, seeing they get a move that dizzies and KD! And a massive damage Unarmed hit! Now it is these people who once they master , they go into PvP , Get massacered because pretty much all comp Kinetic 80% to 90%. They are the ones who come here saying we need AP2Standard, and Stun (Stun?? Can you imagine getting hit for over 800 withgood stun armor? ). TheyBelive that because they are "TKM PwNeRs!" they can take on anything. Now I am not saying that this is TKa specific, there are always whiners who think theyshould " PWN JOO!" .The thing is, a TKM is very balanced, With AP1 they can take down midrange MOBs ( see above ) , And they do "good" in PvP Because of the specials, defense, offense and finnaly Meditate, TKA is an ultimate Stacker, it can go with anything!

i do agree with you. Tk though is not a profession you master and go straight into pvp and pwn ppl. Most ppl who do good with tk are the ones who have read or already know tk strengths and weaknesses and uses them effectively. Also practice helps dramticly. It is very true that most tk's are stacked with other profession (like fencer or in my case rifleman).Like you said tk is balanced(quite possibly the most balanced profession in combat at the moment in my honest opinion)and in pvp the tk that do win are the ones who are very experianced in pvp and know how to effectivly use tk to the best of its ablility and even with 80% armor come out on top. That is why i participate every time my guild has apvp event/tournament so i can go up against different templates and professions as a tkm and over the course of time get better and better with tkm. Oh and i never did tk to own ppl or even to pvp. i did it for fun.Pvp'ing with tk came weeks/months later.

People who go out, Master tk, and run into me will land they're ego drivin' arsestraight back to the cloning facility if they talk all that"l33t"
B.S. around me lol..nowkett (and porbably everyother server) has those large handfull of people who think they're the big shiz-nit on campus the minute they hit tkm and honestly theres only one way to deal with em.. a goodol' skool arse whoopin' in Cnet or Theed
and humiliate them infront of everyone (but after they get finsihed talkin' all their game
) because seriously.. i'm
always helpful to n00bs and whatever buddies they have that need the help too (I dont even flame them when they ask stupid questions
the fourms
) but when they're ego grows and they get cocky because all of the sudden they beat they're first rancor
...its game onman. Now I cant speak for everyone, but I know for dam sure when I hit tkm I didnt not run out here braggin' n' crap and actinglike i'm the "l33t PwnZer" No way man..folks need to beput the heack in check ....just a lil TLC baby..thats all!!

well, if i ever run across another person that can honestly claim they've soloed a rancor unarmored and unbuffed without tkm, like i've done, i'll give them mad props, otherwise, it's just people being cocky.
I dropped that template a while back as i wanted to try other things in-game, and haven't been quite as effective in pvp as i was then, but now i'm so much better at pve, it really doesn't make too big of a deal. I still remember the days of 8 on 3 in theed against dark legion when we'd actually take out like 5 of em before we went down... since then, i've borked myself as have the developers borked the professions and pvp in general...
TKM, for me, was going to be my last profession i was going to grind out until i got jedi, and i decided this when they were 2 months away from implementing the first patch to start the current system...
I've been tkm ever since, and i'm half-way considering dropping my scout/ some smuggler just to pick up swordsman for my grind now, but yeah, that discussion belongs in another forum.

I've ,made similar posts
The majority of TKM 's you see destroying people are almost always melee defense stakers with super weapons.
and TKM's almost always win in duels cause people tend not to use there pvp stuff
And a disturbing amount of people do not know about thalikto , and the use of war cry and intim,

Why do people go TKA? Simple. Small investment, big reward.
You don't need speed tapes, Acklay bones or looted polearms. You simply need a nice damage sliced VK and you're instantly pumping out damage higher than any other non-loot enhanced melee profession.
Throw in 57 toughness, dizzy/KD, good defense and meditation, whats not to love?

All I know is that as a TKM / Doc (my combat testing char), I can do pretty well in PvE,a s long as I know my limits and don't try to tackle mobs that are well out of my reach (NS Elders...../shudder).
I rarely PvP, and when I do it is usually duels to test out my friends new weapons or attacks. When I used to play on Valcyn, I only PvP'd once......then I got killed......
Know why? Because my opponent knew what his skills and weaknesses were, and I didn't know mine or his. (btw, I was a pistoleer and he was a tkm/mbrawler).
He ran around a corner and I followed him, seeing as I had him down to less than 20% health (you must remember, this is when comp had, at best, 50% - 60% resists, and doc buffs were in the 1.2k - 1.5k range for a good set. =P ). Anyway, he was waiting for me. IfI had waited for him, or made a wide turn around the corner out of his range, I would have gotten him. A novice bh dropped him after I died, by using the tactics that I have stated.
Sure, TKM is a powerful PvP profession, but like eevry profession, it is only powerful if you use it right.

I have. Master Rifleman Master Doctor stats migrated to 400 400 400 400 400 400 1100 1000 800 ( I think it was 800, it was whatever was left over) useing SS2, I healed my health and action with stims, but I didn't use any buffs.
Back to the topic on hand, TKM is the best support profesion that is a combat profesion. (Doctor is better imho but only because you can heal yourself of damage and stats)

ok, not exactly sure what dervish is, i did have novice medic at the time, but ok... i didn't use food/drink/spice either...

"Throw in 57 toughness, dizzy/KD, good defense and meditation, whats not to love?"
Everything TKA doesn't get. Bleeds, evasion skills, decent pool attacks, AoE state attacks, alternate damage types, etc. Stuff that all the other elite melee professions with the same cost get.

Hmm... well if your a good TKM you can defeat most opponents, IF you know how to use it correctly. Most "noob" TKM's go for the kd/dizzy and then spam ua3... imo idiots. If you combined TKM with MPikes you can be really dangerous, for example.
TK:intimidate,stun,dizzy,dizzy,kd/dizzy
warcry2
switch to mind dot pike land the dot
switch to tk mind hits
and usually that takes em out quite quick
