Thread: I feel sorry for you TKAs
Asan early creature handler I saw many nerf posts simmilar to the ones that are being posted against TKAs now...
I fear that it is only a matter of time before the Devs cave in to the little cry babys and make a "fix" or a"balance"(AKA nerf) for TKA.
In my opinion TKA is a perfect profession as it stands now. Back after the first CH nerf I was still able to play the profession, I was even able to endure several other nerfs to CH, but the last nerf killed the profession for me. I hate CH now, and I can only pray that TKA does not suffer the same fate.
It's ok man, it's all good....
Although i wish KD2 still only cost ~70HAM with VKs on....
Yeah, the problem is that some cry baby gets killed in pvp and looks at the tag above your head and thinks oh my god I got killed by ________ profession!
Wrong! They got killed by that profession + 1 or more other professions. The problem is that people jump to conclusions and blame it on the first profession they see.
A lot of people have said it, nerfing hinders the game's advancement. And it's very disheartening to see those that are against nerfing as they say go after another profession so that it can be nerfed.
TKA is at a place where it should be. Now it's not a matter of being able to kd someone over and over again to win a battle, it's which combo with my HAM am I comfortable with? What armor should I use (for those who use armor)? It's not button mashing like it was before that you could still win a fight in your sleep. I remember how kd worked when the timer wasn't implemented and Nym's had no faction rating. It was harder for me then to take on one of them repeatedly using kd (not KD2). Now I can use kd2 and whether or not it works I still have other attacks to help me out. It's easier for me now with the timer in to defeat Nym's guards (keep in mind this is still pre-nym faction and group aggro) than it was before when I could spam one move with my vk using so little HAM.
The fact of the matter is a lot of people would like to see melee professions gimped because blasters trump any kind of melee fighter. That is all good and true, but in a game where your attack landing depends on a roll there shouldn't be any kind of bad limitation on someone's skills because of their chosen profession. It's been said that range will beat a melee person out everytime if battle takes place in wide open spaces. That's true, and the same can be said for the same battle fought in enclosed spaces.
Blah Blah Blah and waaah!
Nerf the hell outta us! Who cares? TK is still going to be one of the most effective skill sets to have in any template. Melee mitigation alone is worth the price of admittion.Dont take the "adjustments" personally. The devs dont know you or me. Its not like they are saying"Oh there is so and so playing TK now lets screw with his or her head again" get over yourself.
They just see what the trends are and how all the skills have to be blended. Theare no "uber" skill tree. Yes,TK is about the most balanced skill in SWG right now.But that is my opinion and my opinion is just that...my opinion.
The question is: "Do you like playing TK"? Do you like being a master TK? IF you do then play it and adapt. That is the key to being a true master anyway.
No one really gives a ratz azz what the little punk whiners have to say anyway and if you do then "boo hoo" to you. Suck it up.
The fact of the matter is this - if you have a genuine beef with this profession, there is a better way, and a better place of posting your grievances with the perceived imbalances. There are some forums which the Devs pay considerably more attention to for game balance issues, etc. I suggest that these people who want to cry somewhere go there, and not waste our time anymore. And/or deliberately post threads like "NERF TERAS KASI".
And remember folks - both punctuation and indentation are our friends. They give us a chance to pause in-between convoluted sentences, and help to convey maturity.
That is all.
"We've seen a large influx of people towards the TK profession in light of the recent holo craze. Many people have developed a keen interest in this profession due to its balance and decided to stick around. Yes, TKMs are considerable assets to have in any PVP battle...but let it be known, we're not invulnerable."
I'll give you another reason for an influx of people towards TK. I'm a self-proclaimed noob. I have0/0/3/2 Marksman, 3/0/0/2 Brawler (I think those are right). I was doing Unarmed for a reason.. because this gamelaughs atnoobs. Honestly, I wanted to go polearm from the start, but I could not find a wood staff until last night (a week later). It's ridiculous to me that noob weapons (or any weapons, really) are so hard to find, and maybe I'm reading too much into my bad experiences, but if people could get a hold of them, maybe we'd have less of the TK influx?
speaking of tka nerfs this was in the Testing page of SWG website
now since I've not yet gone up the meditate line I'm not sure if this is new or old. it seems to me like we can't take food and spice to boost are mind before powerboosting anymore after this kicks in.
Yeah, the problem is that some cry baby gets killed in pvp and looks at the tag above your head and thinks oh my god I got killed by ________ profession!
Along the lines of this guys post is the reason i fly the Homemaker flag ![]()
I agree, i personally never fly the TKA tag and chose to go anon.. although if you best them in combat with any TK move they figure.. oh! its that TK profession.. not that i was within melee range.. that couldnt have anything to do with it.
Fact is we have to be bad enough to take down someone fast once they get in range.. because outside melee range we are running around bleeding stunned and dizzy.. or laying on our back bleeding stunned and dizzy lol.
So the profession is obviously great as it is.. although with great power comes a great weakness.. our ranged comrades can always one up us in combat unless they are within 12m.
I am sure the devs know this by playing the profession themselves and creating the profession.
Lets all just hope that when the combat system changes come along people will then know that balance is in the system not the profession. CH is already balanced for the new system with the creatures we have as pets being weaker and less resistant. THe other combat professions will all have thier day when the combat changes come into play and understand the direction and goal to balance. .... I hope.
yada yada yada... nerf this nerf that. Enjoy the game for what it is and go back in hour hole. ![]()
