Thread: Teras Kasi Artist...really?
Benwin wrote:The point is, you are already a teras kasi artist to begin with. There shouldnt be a title for it because thats what you already are.
Its like getting the title "Human" for being a human.
No, you aren't already a Teras Kasi Artist, you are training to become one.
I agree! Its like saying that all the students that go to the Jedi academyare Jedi. Not All of them, make it despite their trainning, so no they are not jedi.
Jedi Padawan (maybe the spelling is wrong) = Teras Kasi Aprentice
Jedi Knight = TKA
Jedi Master = Master TKA
Hope this gives some insight!
hmmm.... I think you are training to become a Teras Kasi Artist Master. Not a Teras Kasi Artist. This skill itself is called "Teras Kasi Artist" Once you become a Novice Teras Kasi Artist. Just like the Forum name is called Teras Kasi Artist. It is for Teras Kasi Artists, hence you are already one once you train novice. Just like Pikeman or any other elite class, once you train in novice, you are a pikeman or whichever... So you are striving to become a Master in that prof.
When you do ctl+s ingame and see your skill, it is called Teras Kasi Artist. Not Teras Kasi. If it were called just "Teras Kasi" then there would not be a problem, which there is not infact.
I am just trying to create some discussion as I am very bored here at work.
I do see the point that your getting at but thats just part of the whole picture that I am stating.
Funny how we are all so hooked up in the game that we put work aside to discuss soch hings.
Well back to the subject:
I imagine that when the FS slot opens the profesion for jedi will be called just that Jedi.
Thats where all the other names will start comming in like Padawan, J Knight or Master J. The truth is They are all preety much Jedi. right now Im working on trying to complete TKA novice. My title if Im not wrong is TKA aprentice. Once I get past this I think I become a student and afterward a master. I could be wrong, but I think thats how it goes.
I just look at the skills in www.swgcenter.com and if you climb the unarmed branch of brawler you have the option to go into Teras Kasi, it does not say TK artist. Take a look and tell me your thoughts. Is this what you were looking for?
I just think that one is a practicioner of TK arts but one does not earn the title of artist untill they recieve the skill you mentioned. From there on to Master.
Well lets see how it goes.
Another thought!
Perhaps you are looking for difernt titles, which could be obtained if there existed maybe diferent fighting style. For Example: Rancor style, Spiced MAster, Stampeeding Bantha etc......(praying mantis, drunken master, crane, munkey etc....)
That might be possible if they do an elite profesion within the TKA branch.
I also know that pikemen get other titles like guardsman etc....., maybe we could get one like monk or assasin.
Is this more into the line of thinking you are in?
no no, hehe.
First off, no pikeman has the gaurdsman title, that is in the marksman tree.
Secondly, the Teras Kasi Artist is just that. If you open up the skill box, at the top of the skill box, is titled "Teras Kasi Artist" So basically once you enter into the Teras Kasi Student, you are a Teras Kasi Artist as well, student being a fancy name.
art·ist- One who is adept at an activity.
a·dept - A highly skilled person (But not a master)
So being a Teras Kasi Artist would be highly skilled in the Unarmed branch to move into Teras Kasi. You train in Novice Teras Kasi then you are a Teras Kasi Artist aka. Highly skilled Unarmed Combat.
Anybody catch on...Or am I just BS'ng to much? ![]()
Personally Im really not getting your point.
Yes, you are in the TKA branch practicing skills to become a TKA. I dont think you are really one untill you earn the title. You are a practitioner of the art but not considered one till you get to a certain level. This is all I can really say, at least at the moment.
Think of it as finishing lawschool. You are not really a lawyer until you pass the bar.
Ill give it some thought and if something comes up Ill Let you know.
Thanks for Noticing!

I already have the title Teras Kasi Artist?
*checks title list*
Its not here... Should I report this bug? ![]()
Unarmed IV - Teras Kasi Student (studying to become TK)
Teras Kasi Novice - Teras Kasi Novice (a NOVICE Teras Kasi Artist {Novice Teras Kasi Artist is redundant, so they probably just changed it to TKN})
Meditate IV - Teras Kasi Artist
Balance IV - Teras Kasi Monk
Power Tech IV- Teras Kasi Expert
Precision IV - Teras Kasi Warrior
Note: someone with only the novice box in Pistoleer is not a gunfighter. They are a NOVICE gunfighter.
Ok, So I hit Master Meditation yesterday now working on Master Balance. I am already a Master Pikeman working towards Master Teras Kasi Artist. Now my question is this: When you master the Meditation tree you get the title "Teras Kasi Artist"Im just wondering what kind of fool that the developers think we are? I mean arent we, by default, called "Teras Kasi Artists"? Why am I trying to move up a skill tree to get the title when thats what I already am? Its like me trying to move up the Pikeman Offensive tree to get the title "Pikeman" ...Duh!
Dont get me wrong I think its a pretty cool title to have, but I am thinking they could have given it a little more thought into their titles. Dont get me started on the ability names! ![]()
