I swore that no matter what I would not drop TKM once I got it.....then I started the holocron hunt. Even then...I kept telling myself that no matter what I would keep TKM (I truly do love this profession). My first one was a good pick..I was already almost a master smuggler (that is what the first one told me to become). Well...I got Master Smuggler today so I ran back to my house to use another holocron (I had just enough for my own use...all of which I got using TKM skills....arrrgh). Well my second one told me to become Master Combat Medic......so I immediately ran to one of the character builder sites and plugged in some numbers. It comes down to choosing TKM over Smuggler really....and sinceI will need $$ as a Combat Medic....well....I am gonna have to drop TKM. I wanted to say thanks to everyone here....I learned everything I know about the Teras Kasi from this board and especially a huge thanks to Mr. Heavy and the correspondent that he followed. You are doing an excellent job and it really pains me to drop my TKM title (solo'ed the entire way to TKM). I really do hope that this profession continues to evolve and hopefully I will get to see CoB work at least once before I drop TKM in about a week.

Thanks :-)

Umm...

Hearing your reason for dropping TKM, I can say I'm not sad to see you go. Since you clearly don't love the profession enough to do missions (for money), you aren't a true Teras Kasi.

in order to advance my path to opening my force sensitive slot...having credits is very important. Those who know me know that I love beinga TKM...but inorder to move forward I will have to sacrfice something...either Smuggler or TKM....I didn't write what I wrote to get flamed....I really don't know why people like you need to flame people who you don't even know. I just wanted to say thanks to those who helped me.

Evetsleep,

Safe journeys.

You are following in the path of many.

I am working towards TKM currently even though my Sith Holocron told me to Master Swordsman.

I am doing both at the same time and I mastered brawler along the way.

All the best.

Tof.

How about you do missions for money instead of slicing?

wow, that has to be the stupidest thing ive herd today. just because he picks another profession over tka, he isnt a TRUE tka? um ok... he was probably master LONG enough to know all the tricks of the trade, how to play, and tk tactics. comon now. after mastering tka and other professions what else is there to do ingame? pvp...ha what a joke. theme parks, npc missions? bah most broken and not worth doing anyway. so now he comes across a few holocrons and decides to do something else now. so he masters a few professions and now comes at a cross roads on which to pick. in his opinion he takes the smuggler in which he needs money for resource grinding and meds and what not which is smart of him to do. you have to realize not everyone has hook ups to money so hes taking smuggler to earn money from slicing and whatnot. just becuase he chose another profession over tka does not mean hes not a TRUE one, its just that he decided it was time for it to go. thast all, you have to realize everyone plays differently

I kept telling myself that no matter what I would keep TKM (I truly do love this profession).

All lies.

If you loveTeras Kasithat much youwoulddrop the meditation line(keep 0/4/4/4)and master combat medic.

You can't even master smuggler with combat medic and on top of that you'll have crap defenses.<3

So don't expect sympathy from us true Teras Kasi Lovers!.

I do realize that I could not keep master smuggler too...but I was more thinking what should I keep to support my rise in power in the combat medic profession...meaning ...what would fit best...in terms of a template. My original template..when I created my character was a TKM\Master Smuggler...which as of today I achieved. I am going to spend the next week being this...as this is what I wanted...but I will then have to choose what makes sense....today...dropping my TK skills in favor of the dirtyfighting and slicing line seems to make the most sense...but I may change my mind. I have to consider some things....Thanks for the feedback though...in the end...i will have to sacrifice one or the other...if not both. I was honestly ready to take a break from PvP and PvE.....so I was hoping for something like entertainer or architect...something that I could do without loosing TKM...but fate had other ideas it seems. You see..on opening day...I created a character to be a doctor...and i got tired of that once i hit master doc (craft grinding got old)....so I created a character who would be a master of PvP and PvE..as of today...I have that. TKM + Master Smugger has made me extremely tough in PvP and I solo'ed both of these all the way to masterhood. So I have (at least I believe) learned the in's and out's of the Teras Kasi profession as well as the Smuggler profession (although I have only been a master for 4 hours now...I have been a TKM for some time...with well over 100 PvP kills under my belt). Either way...the purpse of the system to unlock to force sensitive slot was to encourage people to change their playstyles....for me that is definately what is going to happen one way or another.

Thanks

If you're simply going to master CM just for the Jedi Path, then retain Teras Kasi Master instead of Smuggler.

With TKM and CM Poison abilityyou can make quick work of the 10K+ missions on any planet for your monetary needs. It's also a viable PvP template. Apply a poison on a mobto draw it from the others, KD+Warcry then your favorite combination of attacks and the critter is dead. Repeat as needed. And, if you group with other meleers, your Area Heals from CM will help immensely. You simply target a nearby Meleer and hit them with an Area Stim and you get healed as well.

And then there is the poison and disease viability in PvP. In conjunction with KD and the various other benefits of TK you would STILL be a force to be reckoned with. The Poisons would be your ranged attack while your TK skill would provide a myriad of melee attacks.

And also, from a grinding standpoint, you don't need to actually be a combat medic who harvests their own resources(many of which are planet specific) nor run your own factories(since a lot of the meds require factory identical components) in order to master the profession. You simply need to grind the crafting xp(which truly isn't that hard) and then purchase some good pharmacueticals from an existing MCM...

As someone who is also in your position, mastering professions because of what an electronic lego-piece told me, I know how you feel. But for me that 'main' profession is Doctor.

Don't give up a great profession that you know this well and enjoy this much... there are other ways to grind and get through the Jedi-Path profs without giving up your main, y'just have to find them

i would have to agree - keep the tkm and medic (i am working on that combo) and group with a tknovice or tk student - this serves two purposes - one you can heal them while they level, and two it adds interesting content to your medic grind.

Why do I say that? I personally have trained two tk novices ( not the skill, but technique and fighting style) and have had a blast doing it - i have made two compatriots in tk and on top of that, i have learned even more about how to fight with my own character - as far as the money goes, two tk's can take pikets all day long and make tons of money (they pay anywhere form 9 - 10 k)- go through two cycles of missions and bang you have 40k plus
