Dabblers will pick and choose as part of a class, forego some of the benefits of the class to get the stat adjustment, it's just part of life.

My other class, Pistoleer for example, people tend to go up one line to get all the bleeds and powerful shots then forget the rest. Where they end up hurting is that becuase they have no pistol speed, the stopping shot becomes slow and burdensome and not really worth the price you pay for it. (Unless you take BH Pistols as well).

I look at it this way: If people dabble in a class it means it has some benefit to those who care to create their own 'mini professions' and these people should not be looked down upon or held as a reason to fix a class or that the mastery of the profession is any less an achievement.

Sure there may be more damage at the start now, but that was probably a result of Novices getting nothing of value and the road perhaps being too hard. Now, with an active community, the road becomes easier because people have the ability to lean on the knowledge of people who came before them.

So wear any mastery proud, it's an acheivement in itself to the dedication of time you put into a class, but also respect those who choose to invest those skill points in just bits and pieces to make their own hybreds.

Inhocmark, I agree with you 1,000%! Proud that you're on LOWCA!

I have no problem with Dabblers at all.....dabbling's part of life (I can't play guitar as well as a master, but I enjoy playing at my level).

heh....looks like TK is gonna be the next CH......no matter where I go, I can't swing a cat without hitting at least two TKMs!

I still only see a few TKM's on Intrepid. Most may be hiding their tag, but I've seen like 3 different ones total. I will be proud to wear the tag after seeing all the master dancer or musician or bounty hunter or commando or whatever

I don't care - TK's are far more enjoyable now than they were when they were near broken and non-viable. IF they price for that are more dabblers.... I'll pay that price.

For one thing, why is dabbling such a crime? This game was designed to allow folks to dabble if they so desire.

Dabblers are a side effect of a well-functioning profession. We finally have a semi-reasonable power curve, and a lot of interesting, fun, and effective skills. Plus, even though dabbling is now an option, we still get significant bonuses for the master box, certainly a good enough reward for someone who really wants to play a TKA.

Dabblers in TKA?

Welcome to the world of CHers.

*wonders how long it will be before the Devs "restructure" the TKA tree*

honestly i would prefer if someone got Novis tk to master it, and become a real TK, or drop it.

Those abilitys are designed for TKs to use in TK situations, but ya there is arguements on both sides, and both are valid.

I too considered tk the last of the true master professions, then they fixed meditation, and it was easy to see how people would flawk here.

then they added defensive acuity to striking.

i aucutaly saw some pistoleer who was getting 4/4/0/4 tka.

sad part is the big zero he got was the fun of the TKA, he was just getting it to milk our mods. how to change? doubt you can

just gotta let em, and just know this.

If we ever get nerfed, it will be because of dabblers

I am so tired of this! this is Not meant a s a flame to you personally, But the idea that YOU a master TK want anything that helps us * those of us that want master, and are working toward master* Moved to master, which you already have, makes me sick."I got Mine, Now I want it harder for you to get yours" It absolutely REEKS. sounds a Lot like " I have this, I Loved when I got it Low down On the tree, But Now I don't want you to have it, I did Not ask for it to be taken away from me when I needed it, But I am master now, so let's Move all the good stuff to master"

I am tired of this, and to use the dabbler as the excuse to take it away from us that need it. You are Now master, and I am certain 90% of those that want stuff Moved " further Up the tree, to prevent the dabblers from getting it" are already beyond the level you want it at to prevent it from affecting you, this is absolutely revolting, you have Master, and all you want is that YOU have all the good skills, keep them out of the hands of us Undeserving.... If you feel so strongly about this , do the following, start over..... Give Up all these skills, and THEN ask that they be Moved Up to master, then I'll respect you, Until then you are Lower than the Low.. with this I Move On.

right now i am novis TK, and thats all i have, im not longer master, my sig says master, and will stay master, because TK is the first and only proffession i care about. When i talk about TK i am talking about soemthing i care about, not something that i say that i know will effect me or not. sometimes i post things that if they go live would negativly affect me.

hypocrit? hardly

my stance is still the same, because i love the TK proffession, and i want to see people enjoy what it has to offer. I would rather see someone master it up, and understand all its tools, before they really post on these forums about TK issues personaly. That is because 4/4/4/4 vs master and some experience in SWG being master, is night and day.

why do i know this? because i went through it too

i would also love to just have people stray away from thinking they need to dabble in it. People that dabble such as your self obviously.

i will tell you what makes me sick, people that post on these forums designated as either a flame or truely ignorant thinking on their part, to asume the other guy is only in it for themselfs.

im no elitest, and i would love if TK got some of the same attention CH got. I would like to see things like defensive acuity spread out throughout the entire profession.

i would also like to see power boost moved to master meditation, then move force of will to master. At the same time id like them to move meditation skills about 25 of them throughout the entire skill trees.

You can dabble but the advantage for dabbling is lesser now. you can still heal wounds, and people used to dabble just for this feature anyways.

btw you know why that would be good for TKs? and that change would be good for all tks, even ones leveling tk up.

*yes you have less adavantage to soem degree then you used to have leveling up, but if you note, striking is one of the last boxs that levels anyways to start with, and most of all of us never even used boost power when we leveld, its not a big deal.

1) this will limit the amount of people who pick (novis tk) the devs look at numbers like this all the time. unfortunatly they don't look at master tk, but only novis tk to see whos playing what class, and if they think that class has too many people.

What this means is that TK a class that needs no nerf, could possible get one if more and more people dabble in it. Now ive written that tks will never receive a nerf, and im starting to question that, when i see pistoleers dabbling into striking to become defensive demi gods.

im concerned with the influx of people into tk, because i care about it, and i exspect dabblers to have absolutly ZERO respect or care for this issue, wich is why i have Zero care if they get nerfed /shrug

2) this will make TK leveling a little harder, and more rewarding at higher levels. What this will do is simply give people who do hit master more apreciation for their acomplishments, and a sense of time and points well worth it. The person who is trying to achieve master, will only have more insentive to reach that goal.

Neither of these things are elitiest because they are geared twards one thing....the profession of TK and how to keep it a great proffession for all to enjoy.

you think about that, and get back to me

Heh, welcome to how Master Musicians feel after people started using afk macroing to become Masters.

Doesn't it just bite? You work your butt off for something, and then eventually it's no big deal, anyone can do it, hurrah.
