Thread: Force Crystal Hunter cave -- soloable?

I'm working on my TKA skills at the moment, and decided to check out the FCH cave on dant since I was in the area. I'm 0144 TK at the moment.
I was able to take down 2 NPCs, but one of them just kept kicking my arse. Fully buffed, but I was wearing crappy 55% composite (loaned out ubese to friend who is trying swords). Is there a strategy to fighting NPCs that is different than creatures? None of my knockdowns would hit 
Also, why is there a 7 second lag time for putting on each piece of armor now!??! sheesh!

The force crystalcave is very difficult. Unless you've got some medical skills and alot of stim b's your not going to last very long there solo.

the force crystal hunters in that cave have 80% kinetic resist last time i was there. i forgot what their armor rating was, but i know it took me, a fencer friend, and a master BH friend to take them down.

Tkm couldnt do it, as most of the mobs in there have 80% kinetic and medium armour i think. And they hit hard, and use dizzy/kd. As a fencer, tkm with pistoleer 0040 (meaning heavily stacked defenses) i could do it easily using fencer (as they did not hit me much) but they still take a long time to kill. What you want for this cave is to be a swordsman, they'll solo it no probs.

also, if it's any consolation to you, when me and my 2 friends went through it, all we looted were credits. no items at all. good spot for my fencer friend to get XP though.

It can be done as a TKM. Have done it couple of times. But it is slow and they beat you up pretty bad if you pull more than one.
It just takes skill at pulling and having medic. Armor doesn't help because the encumbrance of even goodsliced armor takes away from stats enough to make you drop quickly in there. Also some of the benefits of your race come in handy.

ive almsot solo it a few times but when i get real close to teh bottom its very difficult to pull one at a time

i have done one before no armour 2400+ buffs muon brandy + power boost it took me about 10 minutes to deal with one using TK
saying that last night i was in there i got my ass kicked by 2 of them 1 is soloable (just) but with 2 on you ferget about it.
and dont even think about doing nightsister witches on Dath...you wont even scratch em with TK

Thanks for the info guys. I'm working on my swordsman as well as my TK skills at the moment.
Is there some other dungen style location a TK should visit to have some fun?

I am TKM/doc
Here is how to solo the cave, get your buffs, get at least 74% ubese armor, get musicain mind buffs, have brandy ready and go kill them.
I took on 8 of the force crystal hunters at one time and lived...Took heck of long time to kill them all, but I just sit there and spammed unarmed hit 3 on them.
It ruined the ubese armor and I got 2 locked containers for the trouble. This was pre pub 9 though, so not sure if they dropping any crystals now.
