Well if the ranged people didn't run like cowards we wouldn't have to use KD/dizzy now would we?

You may be joking, but many of the Brawler class say that and are serious. Since June up until the beginning of this month I was a ranged fighter, I have now given it all up to go master brawler / Master TK / Master Swordsman / medic. I found it so funny when I would destroy master TK's as a BH, Rifleman or Carboneer and have them talk smack like "what are you kiting for you chicken!".

Look, ifpeople were to stand there and let you beatthem in the head thenthey would be dead,Brawler profession is up close,Ranged is about distance,Ranged isusingthere brain by keeping distance.

I learned how to be a really good brawler by being a ranged fighter for so long actually. Some of the Brawler's that beat me were very smart and would stay indoors, chase me into corners, hide around corners, posture change me and close the gap. They new how to fight as a brawler and I learned where not to get cought.

The other night in coronet there were 2 overt imps outside the cantina, both ranged. I went overt and rather than charging out I waited, they eventually got bored and charged into the cantina where I waited in a back room. Pulverised them as they ran in circles trying to get out while I whipped em.

All that to say, if your melee, your not ranged and ranged is not melee, don't complain when people use stratagy to beat you just develop your own and defeat them... And don't get caught in the open.

yes that is very true i have been a TKM for a long arse time... that exactly how you have to deal with ranged people... just need to be a lil more thoughtful with how you go about dueling those pesky ranged people..

and just between you and me.. and i hope i dont piss anyone off by saying this... it never hurts to have a handy dandy posturechange/dizzy macro ready at all times....

i dont usually like to use macros during pvp combat but i know alot of people do and sometimes its the only way to beat them

I'm a ranged perfession and I don't run from melee. I have beaten numerous TKM's in close combat before. Sure they can keep me down for a few seconds, but when I get back up the fight is pretty much over.

Joshua Theo is right...

The idea of Brawler is to have CLOSE combat and cause MAXIMUM damage up close. If you don't like the idea of people kitting you during PvP or duels then quit and go back to ranged.

I was with him in that Coronet Cantina slaughter, 2 ranged professions ignorantly came into a 3m square area and died.

If you do want to stay with Brawler and keep whining, the only thing I can say is stay out of large open spaces ... oops ... my bad ... almost everywhere is an open space.

Thats why I went with the triple master route. When the ranged player runs I just use low blow on them and then close the gap. If you are quick enough you can stick a dizzy on them before they get up.

Yeah, I have to agree triple master is the best thing I've even done for PvP. There are so many things you can do to your opponent at all ranges. I love having all the state attacks of TKM to render my opponent helpless, then whip out the high damage rifles for the kill.

I just dropped TKM - it was prof 26 for me and I swore it was the last one I was going to grind. After that, I'm returning my character to its previous template - MCH with Flame 4.

Don't get me wrong, I had a lot of fun doing TK but its just not my playstyle. Being able to rip mobs apart with only 2 specials just didn't do it for me.

The kicker was when I was dueling someone for fun while waiting for a shuttle: He had some BH in him because of the eyeshot and he wasn't moving, so I had no problem making contact with him. After many futile attempts at knocking him down, my UAhit3 (and my Arachne Webmaster) did little to no damage to him.

It seems that everyone who is serious about PvP is making TK defense #1 priority with their high D vs. KD and 80% Resists to Kinetic.
