Uhhh I'm confused here.. In every single book, story, and even in the **edit** comics TKA hunted jedi.. SWG it's BH's? Did these devs just watch the 5 movies that are out and build the game to them?

Aren't we supposed to be hunting Jedi?

You can hunt them. It's called a TEF.

The empire wants Jedi hunted down. When you want someone hunted down you call a Bounty Hunter not a Teras Kasi artist.

No offense.

A bounty is placed on the Jedi's head so if a bounty is placed on someone's head then a Bounty Hunter hunts them down.

I'll come to the defense of the original poster on this one.

From what little I know of the EU. TKA's were basically able to counter Jedi. It's basically what they did. Or rather what they evolved to be.

However I still say if you want someone taken out and you put a bounty on their head you call a BH not a TKA.

Not flaming you.

What exacly do you know bout TKA in the EU. Name just one source, please. I would really like to read some info onm the TKA. Ive read plenty of novels, comics and role playing books and havent found anything that would really give enough insight on the TKA. All i can say is that it is an efective martial art than anyone can practice if they find a master. By everyone I include jedi and sith. Remember Sith were supposed to be in hiding no one knew about them for many years untill the Pantom Menace; but Darth MAul knew TKA as mentioned in Shadow hunter. Do you really think a TKA would teach a sith TKA if TKA were the opposite of the force. I think not.

Well i just hope you can name some stories or comics. Also remember that one tka that might have fought a jedi does not mean that all tka fight and hunt jedi. Perhaps he was a bounty hunter that used the TKA as his defense or means to aprehend his bounty. I persoally think that bounty hunter is made wrong in the game. Hell anyone should be able to be a bounty hubter no matter what ofensive skill tree they follow. Some could be melle some ranged.

Off the top of my head.

Shadows of the Empire
Alien Encounters
Shadows of the Empire Sourcebook
Rebellion Era Sourcebook

Also the freaky cartoons that were on TV during the Adventure's of the Ewoks era mention tka.

Palpatine employed TKA to hunt Jedi.. They were paid.. They were not monks. Man there's a lot of confusion on this subject. They were not a race but TKA is not only a type of fighting but also a state of mind.. Thus the /meditate line. You are not force sensitive but you are aware.

You use inner power rather than drawing on the power all around you.

TKA is not the ANTI-FORCE. Jedi's learned TKA as well.

The original poster has an excellent point.

As it stands in SWG, we Teras Kasi aren't really the canon Teras Kasi. We're not a secretive order of spacemonks who deal with unrulyForce-sensitives. We're just a bunch of martial artists who have some neat meditation tricks and our hands glow for no adequately-explained reason.

Every time I went to the TK trainer, he'd greet me with this evocative mention that "Teras Kasi is a philosophy and a way of life." I was digging that; that's the primary appeal of the profession to me. I liked the idea that we --as well asthe Jedi themselves -- are a profession that actually has a history and culture.

But nah, in the game we're just another class to pick up in conjunction with Creature Handler and/or Commando. We beat on things with either our fists or VKs. That's all we're about.

Yeah, I don't have any illusions that a MMORPG in its infancy can really have a deep culture. We as players are lucky if developers include any of that in any game. However, the Jedi certainly got to keep the "reclusive and mysterious" flavor that they have in canon. Their trainers masquerade as non-Jedi and they move around. Jedi need to use their powers only in secret, and even then they accumulate a risk of being hunted down. Jedi are apparently always factioned, so they have one group or another to tie into and share objectives.

I'd be thrilled if there were an elite-elite TKA class that actually had anti-Jedi abilities and could be used to hunt down rogue Force-sensitives. Between that "holy war" and the Bounty Hunters having their mercenary fun, there'd definitely be some built-in balances to the zillions of Jedi characters that will eventually surface.

Oh and I agree.. NPC and PC bounties should remain a BH thing.. We should just be correct to the SW universe and be paid to hunt Jedi.

TKA mission terminals should exist with Jedi hunting missions for those who want to take them. It was our job within the universe.

Thx for mentioning some sources.

But..................

Shadow of the Empire - currently reading it after having every TKA mention it (had read it once but didnt remember much about the TKA). So far there is only mention of the "Pike Sisters", Zan and Zu, identical twins and TKA that are being wathced by Xixor in a holoprojection. They are fighting 8 stormies and giving them a good beating. Other than this no more mention.

Sourcebooks? - Do you mean roleplaying source books. I ve seen many. Jedi source book, Sith source book (onlu mentiones 2 bounty hunters, Aura Sing and another, not to mention Vader as jedi hunters), SW general sourcebook and the revised edition, just to name a few. They only give an overview of TKA as a fighting style. They even mention animal forms with name like the rancor and the bantha; much like in Kung Fu.

Ive seen the Starwars Encyclopedia and even the SW website and there is nothing really on TKA.

Alien Encounter, never read it, if its a novel will soon buy it to find out what it says.

Ewoks cartoons, lol, can barely remember them, even less a tka.

Ive been colecting and reading SW comics for quite some time. The most resent ones, leading to the Episode 3 movie, only show so far as jedi killers: Aura Sing, Durge (BH), two nitko (which use cortosis staffs to fight jedi and dark jedi. Not one of them TKA.

The only 2 tka that Ive read of that actually mentioned in a novel are Darth maul and the twileck jedi master he kills. Both practitioners of TK to compliment their fighting styles.

Please if you have facts of TKA info post them, name source, pages or characters, so that one knows what to look for.

In Shadows of the Empire, The pike sisters are mentioned in page 13 secon paragraph.

Thx anyways!

Arden Lynn the Teras Kasi Master was employed by Darth Sidious to kill Luke Skywalker from rising to a higher level of Jedi, she failed and that is how Luke learned of the Teras Kasi.

In the novel Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter, the Master of the padawan that is being hunted by Darth Maul is also a Teras Kasi Master. Yep... in the novel the Jedi Master is also a Teras Kasi Master. I dont really think most people know as much about Teras Kasi as they think.

Also, in the Star Wars D20 sourcebook, Power of the Jedi, it has the stats for the Jedi Master metnioned in the novel. Of course this was right before they published Star Wars D20 sourcebook, Hero's Guide, which actually gives feats to specialize as a Teras Kasi martial artist.

I dont know about anyone else but i didnt see him asking for tka to be uber in that first post. What i got from the first post was that he wants a jedi bounty system like the BH do. I dont know anything about EU so all that crap is hearsay to me but most of this arguement wasent necessary.

If you want to hunt Jedi as a TKA then get Novice BH and TKA 4/4/3/4

You need investigation 3 to get the missions.
