I personally like TKM/MD, mainly for the reason that I can heal myself, heal poison and disease, and buff myself. Sometimes that can be priceless in both PVE and PVP.

I don't know really, but I am almost done mastering TK and I was planning on going Doctor too. I was kind of hoping for the same answer on if TKM/MD's are any good too.

well, by becoming a swordsman you'll add a little defense, but you will only be giving yourself two weapon masteries that do not support each other...what good will 99% of your swordsman skills do when you are using TK and vice-versa.


I have 2 main weapons TK and Pistoleer, but tey complement each other giving me good defenses, and a ranged ability to supplement when Im not beating down a guy with TK...all comes down to style though... whatever you hve fun doing, play that...if all you care about is numbers...go rifleman with TK...

Personally I'm going with TKM/Master swordsman/Master brawler With the pikeman def line and some def from fencer. That way I should have my def maxed and pretty much be a meele god.



My sig is of little use now due to the fact that I have quit.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought you got good melee defense (not just unarmed defense) from the last ladder on the TKM tree. That plus the Meditate tree would make a swordsmal pretty darn hard to beat. I don't think Swordsman complements TKM, but it looks to me like those 2 TKM trees really complement Swordsman.

Bah don't think about the rebalance. We have no clue what will happen so if that's all you care about you might as well give up all your skills and stop playing for a couple months.

i too would agree that it is personally a great thing being a TKM/MD. I know for sure that i will never give up the greatness of being a doc, and hopefully i will never have to give up TKM either.

Doc gives you something dif to do, and saves your arse from dying over and over. I go with doc hence the sig

I'll tell ya a decent template right now, with all my skill pts spent - Teras Kasi Master, Doctor 0340, Combat Medic, 0004. This template let's you be a GREAT support role and fighter in PvP and PvE. TKM needs no explanation. 0340 in Doc lets you give over 1400 buffs (permitting you can find someone to make you enhance-D's with med use of 90 or less), which is great for either cash generation or buffing yourself, and you can use any stimpack in creation. 0004 in Combat Medic lets you deliver poison-C's, typically with range of 33m. Very handy, especially when you come across something with high kinetic resistances.


So that's my template...and so far I highly recommend it.

like so many, i too am a tkm/master doctor.... its a fun prof. you can do a lot of things really well, but nothing exceptionally well. you will lose in duels to stackers, but in larger pvp raids i think you might find yourself surprisingly effective. in the chaos, many of the ranged classes are trying to shoot the cm's and will just stand there. as a doc their cm's are meaningless to you since you can cure the disease/poison. so you run up to their guys and kill 'em. which adds even more to their chaos.


then when you get triple-teamed, the cm throws a mind-heal your way, your ranged guys pick 'em off one by one.....



just hope they don't have a heavy sword or pike with some vicious ns lance.



and, being a doc you get to have a lot more interaction with people, and generally speaking, when you have your master doc tag up people are pretty nice to you cause they don't want to piss someone off who they might need for a buff some day.


i enjoy it a great deal.

and i'll give you the best answer, least what i think anyways. tkm, swordsman, MB, and 3 3 4 0 medic, i heal up wards of 1200 with stim ds. go doc and sure you can buff and the only really positive thing about it is you can heal psn and disease but if you come across a cm taht knows what he's doing that wont matter for tactics i wont mention becasue i hate cms enough as it is. but i usually can kill a cm and have enough time to meditate any disease/psn away after they're dead or incapped. put me against a tkm/doc and i bet i'll win more times than i lose cause i wont attack health and action, you cant heal mind.yes you can take blue milk for around 600, but with my PH i hit for 1100 to 1300 straight to mind before armor every second. plus i'll have itimidate 2 on you and dont forget i'm also tkm which doesnt have much kd def so you'll get kd, have to either cure your dizzy state (less mind for me to hit) or lay there while i pound on you. and remeber i can cure for 1k+ of the damage you'll do to me with the exception of mind hit which if you try to go mind for mind with a swordsman you'll lose hands down. lets not forget CoB too. Only pluses i see for doc are, curing disease/psn in a massive pvp event when you dont have time to meditate. Its also a way to make some cash, course i just go to kill krayts and find pearls and tissues to sale. I wouldnt pay any attention to the combat balance because its not for 2 more publishes so it will be an extremely long time before it matters. i guess it depends if you want to pvp more or pve and even pve i think swordsman is better. haha maybe i'm biasis but this is my opinion, dont get me wrong though fighting anyone with doc when you cant attack mind is a huge pain in the ass. theres my 2 cents maybe it'll help you decide, sorry for the rant i just enjoy swordsman. oh i have 300 mind tick NS lance
