Am I the only TK who's first attack is lunge?

Lunge is great for grabbing the attention of the mob chasing the newbie shooter all over the place..

Lunge stops the chicken mob from heading for the hills when things are going bad for it (You)...

Lunge stops the mob and some poor CH's pet from doing the runaway dance together...

Lunge works just find on 4 legged mobs... (Just look at there icon in the target window if you don't belive me)....

Lunge makes UH much more effective...

And finally Lunge works with my style of attack..

Open with Lunge untill it stick.. UH 2 or 3 times till mob stands back up..

Then hit them with knockdown and continue with the UH thingy

By the time they get back up if they get back up. You dealt a nice amount of damage..

Ok So I was bored.. And felt like telling the world try lunge it works

I use Lunge all the time. But yeah, I know your feeling.

Everytime I hear about people complaining about being kited, people complaining about all kinds of other stuff... It makes me wonder if they've even heard of this wonderful skill. I use it for posture change also, when mobs get back up while dizzy without falling down. It's great for restarting that loop without having to worry about the KD timer to end.

Well since I am also Master Brawler... Unarmed Lunge 2 is always my first hit seeing how it works from 20 meters away. Love it and would hate to not have it.

I use lunge mostly to increase my range and slow down a fleeing NPC (like a NS). Once hit with a few lunges they slow to a walk and I can run up to them and hit them with a stronger attack.

Also, it's a nice alternative for when KD just doesn't wanna work. Spam Dizzy a couple of times until it sticks then lunge away.

Lunge is awesome when they run away. Even if you don't knock em down you can still hurt them. In PvE it's great because a ranged NPC will start kiting often when their HAM is down low, one or two lunges will kill them.

But I don't like it as an opening move because if you're 20m away and you knock them down, they might get up before you get close enough to dizzy. Then you have to wait for the knockdown timer to finish. No, I open with KD2 instead.

I personally haven't fought any NS, but lunge is a life saver when fighting Droidekas who are the most stubborn mob I've seen when it comes to kiting you. They'll run like 150 meters from where they were before they'll finally die from an array of attacks I make that're all lunges.

All those singing the praises of lunge 2 need to remember one thing, there is NO posture change timer, so if that mob annoyingly stands up after you dizzy/kd there's no need to wait for the 30 second knockdown timer. Just pull off the trusty ole lunge 1 and watch them fall again.

Wampa and Nacireen, you both have that 100% right. I use it for the same thing.

In response to the poster, depends on what I'm fighting. If I'm fighting an NPC, then I open with stun and thendizzy, then KD2. Usually that gets them down. Then I hit UA3 a few times, then throw another dizzy in here or there. The reason for the stun to open is that you get a damage multiplier (actually, the opponent gets a defense reduction, but it's essentially the same effect) when the target is stunned.

If it's a long fight and the NPC ain't dropping or getting dizzy, then it's good old blind and stun. Blind makes them miss you a LOT more, and stun again for the reasons above. Blind and dizzy are also very good things to remember in PvP as well.

Now, for PvP, I have a macro that goes something like this (i don't remember if fully, and I usually only use it when I get jumped) - dizzy; kd2; stun; ua3; ua3; dizzy; lunge1; ua3; and then i take over from there. That *usually* puts your opponent on his back and gives you enough time to assess the situation/damage and act accordingly. Remember, even with VK's (and at TKM), odds are your opponent will be on his back within the first 2 or 3 seconds of a fight - giving you plenty of time to figure out what the hell is happening. Hope this helps.
