Thread: Well I dropped TKM after over a year of being with it.

Main reasons I dropped it?


Brawler Unarmed Tree melee attack does 2.2x more damage than TKM attack.

All specials are on the Same timer, meaning TKM can only attack once every 5 seconds.

No more Ability Diversity or Animations

Weapons Reduce our damage instead of Increase it

We can be forever Kited by Root, KD, Root, KD, Root, KD, etc...

I'm "this close" to dropping TKM for the same reasons. So far the only reason i've kept it is because i'd feel naked without my TKM tag. Maybe i'll be original and respec to BH, it's not like EVERY player on EVERY server hasn't already done it (oooo can you feel the sarcasm?)

I just can't wait around as a TKM during double-XP week. I picked up Riflemen and kill things higher level than me in 1/4th of the time as with TKM. Believe it or not.

Only problem with Adv Combo is the one major issue in TKA... it sucks.

We do more damage using Melee Strike without any weapon equipped and the cooldown is shorter.

The damag may be a littel to low


To manny PPl have no ide on how the Advanc combo work


you can get AdvancCombo in betwen 2 melee Hits

Look at the Cooldown Timers again


and that it the reason it dosen do mor damage


its a FREEBE


But ppl need to stop whining and do some more testing

/agree AlteFoD. Besides TK is rated a 3 in offense if you want to hit hard get a prof that has a higher rating. I am TKM and am keeping it because of our5 defence rating. Defence is the strength of the TK now, if you dont think so switch templates with swords and put on some bone armor and fight, you'll see what I mean. No cha is a complete package anymore so mix your temp and make it how you want. I am TKM, defence 5, MS offence 5, and Doctor 2002. Please quit whining about the dmgTK's do and start looking at the fact that with TKM innate armor and CoB you can stand in front of almost any mob and take hardly any dmg.

So found that dropping a high damage resistance, midlevel damage dealing prof for a low damage resistance, high damage dealing prof allowed you to do more damage and less tanking?


Interesting.


If only we could combine TK with something like Swordsman....


And the devs wanted unarmed damage to be higher than weapon damage, assuming no resists. They're looking in to that aspect. They're also looking at adding back a lot of animations to all the profs.


I'd also be careful of moving to Rifleman for when they take a look at root, and start making nerfs. You might regret it then.

Now we seewho the true TKM's are, and who was just on the fotm bandwagon. I pretty much have the same templet as I did before cu, and if anything I will drop medic and retake MRanger for the lvl 80 rating. I am really not having a problem, it just takes a min. or two more to take stuff out. I use my camo to sneek up on target, a 'glow wire' trap to lower defence and agro said target to my location, so as not to agro the whole group. Then keep cob active at all times and dead critter, am lvl 65 atm not having problems with lvl 68 missions. Will try lvl 69 tonight and see if I can pull it off, wish me luck.

Currently i'm a TKM/Pikemen/Scout 3000/FS melee speed III. TK is not a high offensively powered profession that it used to be. When coupled with other professions is when you start to see benefits. If you're looking for damage causing, pikeman is the way to go, that i've found melee wise. With a good lance and if you have speed modifiers, you can take down things quick. With armor break and advanced impale, i can do over 2200 damage. That's just my opinion though.

Excuse me, but I was testing TKM in TC long before you had a clue what was going on. Advanced Combo doed around 300 damage. 40% of the damage that the regular melee strike ability from brawler unarmed tree does. So it is USELESS. Why spend More Action points to do Less damage?

Some people say TKM is rated 3 for offense. That is TRUE! But we are doing damage equal toOffense Rating (1) right now! NO ONE in the game does as little damage. It is BUGGED.


And as for the 'FOTM' comment...i've been TKM for overa year. During CU on TC, I compiled a list of TKM Bugs, hoping to have them fixed. But that DIdn't get anything done. And if you say 'take some Swordsman with TKM' to do damage, then you're not a 'true TKM.' You're just a template stacker. You just took TKM to get Innate Armour and CoB.

Yea, I really don't like how TK has become a background profession. Just a little more offense is all I ask. I enjoyed being able use TK as my primary profession, and I resist dropping it entirely in the hopes that it will be repaired. Not trying to gripe, I love the CU honestly otherwise, but for as long as SWG has been out and the TK profession has existed I think it it rather shady to shift the profession from one extreme to the other as it has been.

I am attacking every 3 seconds so I am not sure where this 5 seconds is coming from?


I too miss the cool animations and would like to see them back


Your old weapons reduce the damage, the new ones work. Not sure if this is a bug.


Someone mentioned you aren't a true TKA if you take up other profs? I don't agree with that. I think if you are playing a game you diversify your skills and knowledge to make you an effective combatant.Doesn't make me any less of a player makes me a smart one imo. Not flaming but if someone is playing a game that encourages you totake on different profs and you choose not to then yes you aren't going to be as effective in combat. That is your choice but don't think we need to look down on folks if they are utilizing the strategies offered to us in this game. If it wasn't a part of the game they would not have given us 250 sp.
