Best Knuckler - Katarn knuckler

no ifs, ands, or buts.


Yes the elemental damage makes up for the slightly less DPS, the elemental damage makes it more practical for pvp as well as cold base stats are usualy lower resistance than the standard kenetic/energy protection. There really is no debate.


Blaster fists can't be made good enough even with top of the line krayt tissue and powerups to contend with the damage on the katarn knucklers.


Necrosis knucklers are close... but not better. Broken stat mods on the weapon dont make up for the difference. neither does the higher max damage.


Innate armor is 6000 resist across the board 48% protection against everything. use a rifle it still works, use a sword it still works, innate armor has nothing to do with what weapon you have equipped. However you need a melee weapon equipped to activate COB so... There's the answer on that.


Yeah... force of will doesnt work... no need for another topic on that. Send in a /bug ticket


TKM/MDOC have the highest survivablity out of any standard profession combo. great template for soloing anything up to necrosisto the CL 111 jedis on dantooine.


now that's all cleared up we can discuss something woth while.

Mdoc is useless. Waste of SP. Doc 4xxx heals just as much, maybe mdoc heals for 100 better.

A few notes, my katarn knuckler has better unmodified dps than my necrosis nightblade (312 vs 270) so already there katarn looks better.


The nightblade has skill modifiers, like unarmed damage, but it is my impression that unarmed damage is truly unarmed so it is usless on a weapon and also I think it goes into the same skill pool as clothes so if you already have +25 clothes it's useless.


My katarn had slightly lower normal max damagethan the necrosis, but 130 extra elemental damage.


My conclusion is, why is there a discussion? The katarn should be considered much better, now that elemental damage works.

Katarn is better without a doubt.


I bought an illegal core booster, did the slice, then did the first tier speed and crit slice.


It has better DPS than the Blade of Nyenth'iosis or whatever it's called, only by about 13 points, but the speed on the Katarn puts anything else to shame.

Katar is great. I put a speed power up on mine (it's unsliced.. at the time I didn't know Smugglers couldn't slice biolinked stuff.. hopefully it gets fixed), and it's modified DPS is 664.5 .

Not to be an ass or anything. But people come to post topics and questions regarding skill choices/templates etc for their own unique situation. an "end all" topic is completely a waste of space. And while we're on the subject of this post. a TKM/Mdoc does not have the highest survivability out of any standard profession combo. As far as being a defensive player template goes, you're better off getting a tree in fencer, and a tree in pikeman, to mix with doc/tkm. The fencer line brings binding strike, and the pike line brings warcry/intimidate both of which aid in prolonging a fight. This template would only suffice for extending a fight, not necessarily winning it. For offensive solo'ing purposes TKM/4004-4404doc/0444-0440sword is by FAR the better choice. A template is a template, to be played according to play style. Just because you think that doctor/tkm is the best tank choice, doesn't mean that its true. This thread does nothing more than just extend your personal preferences and point of view to everyone and try to state it as fact. Which anybody who's actually TESTED the subject knows is far from the truth.

This is the Teras Kasi forums......... what else "worth while" is there to discuss in our forums other than our profession, questions regarding our profession, complaints we have, and template suggestion/advice threads? Really, if I'm missing something. Enlighten me.

Well if i remember correctly a tkm is already maxed on speed getting that tier3 power slice looks nice but also get a tier 1crit.

Tkm/Mdoc... if you're talking about a total fight between 2 fully templated characters the Tkm/Mdoc will probably have pikes/1hsword/2hsword built into their template as well, while CM has to waste 30 skillpoints alone just to get the marksman requirement


Also Docs can self buff, remove ALL the debuffs CMs do, as well as heal better (especially with bacta jab enhancers)

Not after a few publishes it won't. Non Master Doc or Master Combat Medic healers are going to get weaker, there will now be a point to becoming a MD or MCM.

1 on 1 who is going to win...TKM/MDOC or TKM/MCM? I really don't know but I would probably put my money on the TKM/MCM...
