It has been 4 (almost 5) months since I became the Correspondent, and I wanted to share with you my thoughts on what has transpired over the course of my time thus far. I realize that monthly updates would have been much better, and that is something I shall have to attempt to do this year.
Many things have happened during the past few months, the most notable of which is the work on the Combat Upgrade (the announcement that there will be an Alpha and Beta Test, and the selection of the Sandbox Testers being the most visible). Honestly the CU/R/B is the largest thing to happen for us (as it is to all combat professions) in the history of the game. However, being under a NDA, I cannot say more. I wish I could say more things had been fixed during my time thus far, but almost all of our issues are combat related (hard to imagine seeing as how we are a combat profession I know), and as such will be resolved in the CU/R/B.
We finally have confirmation that Unarmed Damage Attachments do not work, as well as Official word on Defensive Acuity and its effects.
The most prominent change, however, has not been in the game, but on these forums. Long have we been without a purpose (or simply a lack of direction if you will), but the past few months have seen many fine Teräs Käsi step up and help each other during times when we had no Correspondent, or rather inactive Correspondents, and on to this day grow ever stronger as a Community. "Nerf" calls have been endured for a long time, and I applaud everyone here for their dedication in maintaining a positive atmosphere even through dealing with those who post merely to incite flames.
Basically, I just want to say thank you to everyone here. Let us continue to forge strong friendships and an even stronger Community.

You do enough on a daily basis that you shouldn't feel bad about monthly updates. Correspondent can be a thankless job and you've made this my favorite profession forum. Thanks and sorry for not having said so before.

I have to say it's great to have a fully active Correspondent now, the need for monthly updates just isn't needed as you always do seem to be there when you are needed. I only really started posting afteryou made Correspondent but before that was lurking for quite a while & much of what I was alot less communication then we get now. Since you took on the blue name the forum has improved so much. You've done a great job as Correspondant & I'm sure you will continue to be one as we move on. With the CU/R/B coming up will meen alot of us will need to learn the TK Proffesion in a new way. It's nice to know we have a top Correspondent to be there while we do.
Personly I can't for the CU/R/B& to see what it holds for us all as Teräs Käsi. I think we all will have quite alot of learning to do about the proffesion & it's templates but I'm glad there is now a strong community here with atopCorrespondentto go through this new learning curve with when it hits. I dare say even those in the Alpha & Beta tests for the CU/R/B will find theres lots to learn once it hits live. What ever is in the CU/R/B though I can't wait to see, I have a feeling we have a great year ahead.
What ever the year holds though, keep up the great work man. I hope you are planing on keeping that Blue name plate for many months to come.

You've done a fantastic job thus far Ryutek!
5 stars for joo.
If some people here hung around these forums in the past (all the forums, not just TK) they would be able to better appreciate what you're done so far. You've made this place the TK haven it is now, keep up the good work.

I believe that you have done a good job, and have no complaints. You have kept us (the TK forums) headed in a good direction even if we really don't know exactly where we want to end up.
The state of the game has made it very difficult for any sort of monthly update, especially us TK who have stayed relatively unchanged over the past year. While I'm getting fed up with SOE's cloak and dagger, top secret BS about the CU I don't hold any of the correspondants and the like responsible for the mamagement's bad choices. Its been a very difficult past couple months. My entire guild of 50+ accounts, save myself and 2 other casual gamers, have left the game and I understand that I am not alone in situations like this.
It has been purely my trust and respect for for the correspondants and their assurance that serious core game flaws are actually getting fixed that has kept me and my accounts here. It is is difficult to come home from a stressful job, where people's health and even lives are in my hands, log on and get killed by a game bug (with a set of RIS armor in my inventory), get told by the CSR's that they cannot confirm it (well duh if you could confirm the bug well then it would be a known issue or already be fixed), and have fun playing the game. Its good to know that there are people who are working for me (even though correspondants don't get paid).
Thank you for keeping my spirits up in these dark times.

Heh, I think I'll stick with something *slightly* less stressful...
Hrmm... maybe that means I should pursue Emperor instead, it probably is less stressful
Seriously, thanks everyone. Hopefully we'll see some great changes for TKs (and the game) this year. Kasamatsu, I'm in a similar situation with the Guild I founded. We have thus far at least remained alive, but we have recreated the Guild elsewhere as well. I look forward to the things to come, I just wish I could say what they are.

We know your hands are tied on the CURB but I think atleast three idea that are a bit separated from basic combat have been circulated and was wondering if you were going to pursue any of the ideas within the CU or outside through content addition. Those ideas being:
1. Dojos a structure placeable by master TKA
2. Robes
3. Enclave or ranking system.
I would venture that some additional content such as maybe a tournament arena might make a good discussion. Anyway. You seem to be on top of things pretty well anda correspondent update actually sounds like a good idea though may not be neccessary. Keep up the good work.

I would love to pursue those ideas heavily (and they have been mentioned in my list of "issues/features/etc that is in the Correspondent Forum), but the reality is that I could push for them until I am numb and cold and have no further impact than simply stating them once until after the Combat Upgrade has been completed. It basically is just something that has to wait for the right time to push for, so at this point it is listed as an item we would like to see happen.
Thats cool. Was just mainly looking for something to talk about other than teh CURB since nobody can talk about the CURB. Glad to hear you already submitted them maybe sometime after CURB though i thought they brought in a new content team apart from the CURB team that you could push this at but hehe waiting is what we have come accustomed to but is something I must admit I do very poorly.
