That were semi losing our Team Lead at the same time there beginning this revamp.. I mean I just think this has to be the worst possible time for this to happen, and wondering if anyone can make me feel better LOL!!

I'm just curious if Mr Heavy recommended a replacement for the correspondant position. With a major fix coming up, all the professions need theirrepresentatives tobring up any issues with the Devs.

Im kind of worried that as a TKM, that our skills will be deteriorated with the combat balance... I don't want to loose all my bad ass skills and moves, and espacially my defenses against knockdown and such.

I would hardly call a +20 modifier to KD defense a formidable asset for TKM ![]()
As for the combat rebalance, I'm not too worried. I still hold out hope that the devs will fix this mess that has become the GCW and PvP in general.

If theres anything you learn from MMORPG's is that melee classes always have been and always will be tanks. Being as though we are made to be tanks they can't nerfs us too much and still allow us to do our jobs. We make take shots that hurt us in PVP but PVE wise there has to be someone to hold the mobs while everyone else shoots. That being said I'm not worried what-so-ever. If you nerf melee professions too much then they can't do their job...devs know this so don't expect too much of a nerf.

And if we get hit by the nerf stick... and it hurts... everyone else will probably be unconscious. hahah.

With all the actually broken profs, lets hope the devs don't have too much time to mess with the working ones, aka us.
Squad Leader- broken
Carbineer- needs help
Smuggler- need help
Pistoleer- needs help
Ranger- almost useless
Bounty Hunter- broken, needs help and almost useless
Commando- needs help
Pikeman- could use a little help
Lets hope they do whats right and actually fix those profs and not screw around with the 4 or 5 that actually are working.

I'm not worried... but, to address your worries the answer to the question "will TKAs get 'nerfed'?" is yes and no. Like a previous poster said meleers are the tanks of the RPG world. They take much, much more of a beating than a ranged attacker. In SWG they are going to go through weapons and armor faster than a Bounty Hunter or Rifleman. A meleers should have much better melee defense vs. ranged what their ranged counterparts have. Meleers should have slightly better ranged defense vs. what their ranged counterparts have. Finally, Meleers shoulddeal slightly better damage than ranged counterparts. For the sole purpose that ranged attackers can pick their spots of engagement and establish range between themselves and their attacker to avoid taking damage. A meleer does not have this luxary. If a meleers is hitting you, you can hit him back no matter what your profession is.
Now as a TKA, after the CB, will you be able to put on your 90% composite armor get +2400 buffs and head out on your path of destruction? No. But, no one will be able to. Will you being doing 3000 pts of damage a second with uber sliced VKs? Not likely. But, then again, no one should be.
There's one thing you need to consider with the CB, all of the correspondents are going to be in the sandbox months before the thing goes live and none of the correspondents will let their profession slip through the cracks on this one and be consideribly weaker than any of the other professions. Its just not going to happen.
So while you probably won't be as powerful as you were before the CB; combat should be equal between all the professions and it should be more fun and challenging. At least that's my dream.

Let me add that the combat revamp is probably going to bring back what every other MMO has, grouping. This is the least multiplayer of any MMO on the market. I'd bet the devs don't like that too much. Anyone ever play EQ? Could you ever imaging someone /ooc (like /shout for the non EQ-ers) Looking for a solo group in PoK?? It would never happen. There is no reason to group as even the most broken of the combat classes can solo on their own with armor and buffs.
So yes, every class is going to be "nerfed" but its going to most likely be because of an overhaul of the whole system, not a specifically targeted nerf as some might want for us.

Armor smiths should worry, and so should doctors. They are gona get mega nerfs.
I hope the Devs don't nerf TK too hard because I have taken all the nerfs I could handle back when I was a Master Creature Handler. If TK does get mega nerfs then I will probably just go all crafter and use those skills to enhance my vehicles in the space expansion.

I won't be worried if that combat reBALANCE comes out to be a real balance and not a couple of nerfs
