Meditation IV = complete wound heal for self in usually under a minute with 0 resource or crafting time anywhere, anytime.

You will have to decide if that is beneficial to you or not.

you can heal your own mind wounds with meditate... so it becomes less usefull but still usefull.

If you have meditation its pointless to be a medic

The medic healing portion might be useless, but the doctor buffing part isn't nor the stimpack part.

I recently started using Enhance D's for action and health and am working on getting D's for stamina and constitution. These buffs last for over 2 hours and am currently buffing myself for upwards of 1600 to each.

Once I get my claws on D's for stamina and con my regens should go through the roof during combat, allowing for harder mobs to be tanked.

But yes the lure of healing ourselves after combat is sooooo nice.

Meditation can also be used to slow down bleeding. I didn't know this myself to recently..was bleeding after a fight with some spice fiends. After defeating them, I chose meditate instead of sit command to rest for a while. While I was bleeding, I was getting a message that says "Your bleeding is slowing down, Your bleeding is slowing down". I'm wondering if it will help with stunned or blindness too... Figure I'll check into it when I get in that boat.

No, I'm fairly sure it does not help with state effects like stun and blindness (in fact, I think you can't even start meditating till those wear off) but it does help with DOT effects, like poision, disease, bleeding, ect. It can, with some skill, cure them much faster then a medic can.

DOT = Damage Over Time, in case you didn't know.

The fact that I'm the lone medic in most of my groups... I have to say its worth it.

I'm not sure about blindness, but you definitely can't meditate until stun wears off - you can't even sit down while you're affected by it.

It seems a little strange to me. If I've been stunned by a smack to the head or something, sitting down is one of the few things I'm still able to do. =)

Yeah, arzen is right. You can heal wounds, bleeding, disease, and poison with meditate. All other status effects keep you from meditating. So if you are blind with heavy health bleed, find yourself a medic. At master, disease heals like instantly which made me laugh because certain people were freakin out when they got it. Bleeding heals slower than the other two it seems but unlike them the damage it gives you decreases pretty rapidly until its gone.

Well here's something for you to see:

If you heal wounds using Meditation 4, you don't get that "stats stay the same as if it was wounded" bug or effect (I don't know anymore).

Also, if you get that nasty rez bug where you regen is at a hault, you can ask a friend to duel you, hit you until you wound your regen pools, then you can meditate, and fix that bug instantly.

Its not pointless to have med skills and be a medic. I'm a master surgeon along with being a master tka. Being able to heal mind wounds is great. But unless you plan on getting Med to get to Master TKA then I would suggest maybe putting your skill points elsewhere to get more bang for your buck.

I actually prefer meditate over using doc skills to cure the DOTs. It's nice to have, but I'd certainly recommend putting your skill points into the other boxes before meditate.
