As some of you may know, for a number of reasons I have taken up Rifleman. I have reached 3001 Rifleman (I am not an over achiever as I work long hours. Sometimes my work days are 16 hours) and I am beginning to gain an appreciation for the profession as an opposite, yet complementary profession to TKM.
Thus far Rifleman has been about sniping from afar, trying not to be seen and a more subtle balance between power and discretion.
I am beginning to enjoy the hunt. Stalking the perimeter of my waypoint, finding the creature farthest from the lair, kneeling or going prone, taking aim and firing off as many head shots as I can before the mob aggros.
TKM is about toe-to-toe, face-to-face tactics. Out-smart, out-fight and eventually over-power your opponents. Rifleman has been about stealth, out-thinking and out-damaging opponents. While the two play styles are VERY different I am beginning to enjoy the contrast, and embrace the new way of thinking about combat this change has forced on me.
As I advance in the new profession I will have access to new titles, and I’ve been thinking quite a bit about what title I should wear over my head. I can always swap back and forth between the Master Rifleman and Teras Kasi Master titles…but that is over done.
I have settled on Assassin. Let me see if I can explain why. As a TKM, I can kill quickly and quietly using just my toon’s body as a weapon. As an assassin it is not always possible to use a loud, clumsy, messy weapon to get your job done. Sometimes your hands are the only means to your end. As a Master Rifleman, I will be able to kill swiftly from a distance. Sometimes the mark will never even know I am there. Conceal Shot can allow a player to destroy a target without the target ever knowing where the shots came from. No agro at all.
The ability to kill swiftly and silently up close and personal, combined with the ability to kill quickly from a distance often times without being seen, will make my character a finely tuned killing machine…an assassin.
This is how I decided to wear the Assassin title. It covers BOTH masteries in its meaning.

I go for the coolest title. I get Duelist from some of my fencing skills, so I use that usually. If I use a pistol I wear the Tricksot title. I rarely wear my TKM title just because it seems cliche to do so.
I also like Swashbuckler on occasion just because I think it's funny.

"Explorer."
Deception is the key.
(Although I do mention being a TJM in my profile for those wise enough to check my profile before engaging me.)

And this is why I suggest you always examine someone before dueling them. Cause I don't know how many people wearing novice brawler ask some poor newbie to duel. The newbie, seeing the title figures they might have a chance and tries it out. I examine the 'novice brawler' only to find a badge for mastering TK...
I find it amusing... right up to the point where the 'novice brawler' starts to trash talk/brag...

I am a fan of the swashbuckler, I will soon have the rest of the fencer titles as well. Swashbuckler makes me feel like a pirate.....and I like pirates.....just not the butt ones.

I was gone for a few days and so went over recent threads and posted to the ones I felt the urge to contribute to. Since I did it late at night I'm sure I was the only one posting here.
As for Atama... It's the Japanese word for my real life name.
