Well we all know that if you look at the stats on the cu that pikeman is a close second to tka in defence yet has much more attack power. Yet the pikeman can were armor while tka have none. Welli was thinking what if pikeman defence works like block does know and what if unarmed defence(avoidence) works like a fencers dodge. Think a 75% dodge to all attacks.... Can anyone confirm this or am i just dreaming because if not tka is getting nerfed(gah i hate to use that word) to death in the cu. But all saidand donei have not played nov. tka-tkm in the cu yet so i can not say anything.

we're the ultimate tanks in the game, so there goes any of your information. We're meant to be ultimate tanks, not offensive masters. Remember, no one is pwnage anymore, we all have our roles. Plus, we're plus doing Lvl3 offense, which is the power of a BH and better than many others. If anything speak to pistoleer being nerfed or any "crowd control" based profession. There goes solo'ing anything offensive wise for them, they gotta worry about KD'ing ppl, whilst now they can just get back up. Honestly, i can't wait for the upgrade regarding TKMs, we dont wear armor anymore and our defensives are the highest of the game, you know what this means? Jedi, here we come. We're even rumored to get Jedi like robes.

i was not saying that we were getting nerfed in our offence i was just saying that if our defence is to close to pikeman you are going to see alot more pikeman than tka(hows that for a run-on sentence)

Well if it is true that a pikemans defences total only slightly less then ours and they get armor as well then we aren't exactly the ultimate tanks, far to early to be able tosay either waybut you've gotless information to back up your view then the origanal poster.

Pikemen will not avoid hits like we will. They will rely on armor and the use of Intimidate and Warcry to tank while we will simply avoid the hits.

I thought intimidate was being taken out of the game completely. I dont like the idea of a few professtions getting it and others not.

Yes we will avoid them because we have no armor=less negative modifcators(like anyone who takes of armor)and a very very little bonus on weapon specefic defence.
=We will avoid more hits but with the current skills on TC5 ...we just cant play in the same tank league as pikeman

Have you tested TK on TC5? We have no clue how it will play. We are THE tanks. Look on the Diagram and tell me what we rank in Defense and what Pikemen rank in Defense. Just because you do not see a modifier that says something else does not mean that it will not occur. Is it really that difficult to understand?

Why? It is no different than some having defenses that allow them to avoid getting hit and others not. It is no different than some having different types of damage and others not. It helps to fill a role. If you want Intimidate then spend the skillpoints to get it, everyone has access to it by simply picking up the skill.

such faith in the diagram...
i can only hope that it has some bearing on the game. we really can't tell because as on live...unarmed 4 isn't the ultimate tank...only songouki has the ability to see what the actual profession has to offer and i'm sure he can't tell us a lick of it.
i personally am relying on the devs' statements that there's too much melee in the game and more gunfire would make it more 'starwarsy' than i am on the arbitrary (albeit, beautifully designed) diagram that puts us at the end of the tank arrow.
if you've seen 'this is spinal tap' then you will understand me when i say that diagram only shows that our defense goes to 11. if not, go watch it...great movie.

Quite simply put, no one really knows until we test Elites. Is there a reason to act as though the sky is falling without having facts? No. Will it help? No. So why?
I could care less whether you believe me or not, but do not make statements that you cannot back up with facts and expect for me to not challenge you. I may dislike SOE immensely, but to automatically decide that two professions are the same based on what numbers you can see and have absolutely zero experience testing is rather premature. My faith does not lie in the diagram alone, however I cannot disclose anything other than what is publicly available for you to see.
