Thread: should Teras Kasi get force defense mods when jedi start poping up?
its just an idea.. i understand that the jedi is the all powerful being in this game but the DEVsareall aboutbalance (supposedly)shouldnt the jedi have some weakness as well? the defense mods would help us in no way against any of the other classes, but would it be too far over the balance line to have a class with force defense mods?
lets keep it a clean discussion so dont go flaming away i want some constructive replys

Well... the Teras Kasi martial arts did start because of Jedi purposes... I wouldn't see why not.
If it wasn't for the Jedi, we wouldn't be here.
But, some others might think that Teras Kasi will be way overpowered if this does happen, even though it's what it was like in EU. But, lol, there will be a very rare number of Jedi per server, so it probably won't happen. In EU, we were able to 'detect' beings that used the Force or were Force sensitive. We could efficently take them down, if we wanted to.
Now watch some other melee profession come over and flame this post >=/ I don't understand some people sometimes....
I think it's agreat idea. If I may, I'd liketo go into detail: How about if one receives "Sense" and "Force fortitude"mods via the "Meditation" and"Balancing" tree respectivelyso that, if you were to become a "Teras Kasi Master", you'd recieve onlyhalf the damage of anyForce attack directed at your person.
The "Sense" mod would come into play with the "Sense Force" command. At the top of the"Meditation" branch, "Sense Force" would allow a Teras Kasi practioner to scan their enviroment for Force sensitive individualsvia the meditation stance. A Teras Kasi Master would have far greater range and success at feeling out Force sensitive individuals, naturaly.
I think it's right that a non Mastershould haveaccess to "Force sense" albeit, at the top of a branch,as it's a fundimental part of the Teras Kasi art that all practioners should aspire to do, in keeping with the continuity.
The mechanics of "Sense Force" could work just like the treasure map disks that you can find as loot on NPCs: A successful "Sense" would hint at a direction, once you felt you were close enough to where you sensed the pressence, you'd repeat the process and so forth.
Of course, there's nothing stopping the Force sensitive individual from moving, and this allows the command to be fair towards the potential target. A single practioner would most probablybe led on a wild chase, if they're lucky enough to feel a single pressence, while a group of Teras Kasi practioners could coordinate their search becoming far more effective. A Force sensitive with a band of Teras Kasi Master hot on its trail would have much to worry about indeed.
Those are my current thoughts on the matter. Smart topic.
well this would be kinda pointless for pvp, because force players will be tef'ed when using the force, so they will be hunted with or without TKM's.
This could come in handy for this supid ass holocron hunting, for example finding force npc's on dant to go kill.
What about balance? I think what tkas really want is a defence against balance skill

well i figured youd come trolling falator... but the reason i posted this is to get away from the dull drab posts that have been showing up asking the same stupid questions over and over again you know what im talking about cause they are on your forum too.

typical swordsman: OMFG YOU LAMER!!!11 KD DIZZY IS SO CHEAP YOU FUKIN NOOB!!!!1
Lol swankiller, nice sig and yes,I go where i am needed and the force tells me that tkas need me the most. You also seem to need me. You forget that i MADE YOU! Without me you would have nothing except some stupid signature, but now with my influence you have given yourself a signature that you can be proud of.
I don't mind answering the "dull drab" though. Everyone was new at some point. Heck, i even answered some of it here and i didn't even say anything about the insane imbalance of the melee professions in their thread!
I'd say 'no' because we are talking about player Jedi being limited in the number of deaths they can have, and I have no doubt some peeps would appoint themselves Jedi PKers if they had the ability to detect and attack Jedi players. I couldgothe other way on this if there are good limiting factors implimented along with Force-sensitivity.
But there's some confusion over the origin of Teras Kasi.
It was the Followers of Palawa who were the watchdogs of the Jedi, not just any practitioner of Teras Kasi. The remnant people of Palawa whose home world was devestated by Force-intensive war went to the planet Bunduki where they learned TK, and Teras Kasi is clearly stated as being a Bunduki martial art. This at least implies that for Teras Kasi was a tool the Followers of Palawaturned and honed to their Jedi-watching purposes. Basically, all Followers of Palawa are TKA, but not all TKA are Followers of Palawa.
That's not to say a TKm wouldn't be Force-sensitive, just that basing an argument for Force-sensitivity for TKAs on the Followers of Palawa story isn't well-founded.
I'll just say it again, Heck NO!
I don't much care about what EU said, or what people think it said.
I want to have fun being owned by Jedi. I don't wantall the adolescent idiotsto become TKAs so they can go "hunt" Jedi. I want this profession to be hard to play so all the little weezers will go play somewhere else.
Wow... I seem to be in a foul mood tonight, judging by the tone of most of my posts... he he he
then i ask this what if there were an elite elite class called palawan followers do you think that the force defesnes could possibly go there?

Some great ideas for a Grand Master Teras Kasi class though.
