Thread: Teräs Käsi Artist FAQ 1.1
Great FAQ!
Some suggested modifications.
2. Human - I believe you can migrate stats to have 1100/1100/1100on Mind/Focus/Willpower,if you wanted to go extreme and migrate stats so you have to always be buffed. All other races have stat limits. This may be fixed in the near future.
7. Huurton Stalkers and Kamurith Defilers are popular because they spawn only 2 mobs per round, with 3 round total. The note should be that occasionally one of the spawns per round may be a baby, which is worth no XP, so is a bit of a loss. You might want to throw a link in for a website that explains how to single pull social MOBs, again, something that may be fixed in the next round.
8. Perhaps a word in here that Master Dancers can double your Mind pool and Master Musicians can double your Focus/Willpower pools if you watch them for 6-8 minutes. A note that you can stack buffs is worthwhile, as is a note that food is currently broken and shouldn't be used to stack buffs.
9. You say the moves "appear" to be higher, they do have a higher cost. So in actuality, armor does in fact increase HAM costs of your special moves. Just as buffing your secondary stats does lower the HAM costs of your special moves. Another good fallacy to include is the fallacy that armor makes you run slower. It does not.
10. Very good summary, but I slightly disagree on some points. If you are unbuffed, I think Mabari is a very good choice, for minimal HAM costs you get a "Light" armor rating which automatically takes like 50% of the damage off for some hits. Personally I have 20% Mabari, but even the 10% stuff is very good for armor absorption. The advise on the armor macro is invaluable, you'd be suprised how many expert players don't have an armor macro. Always take it off between battles for regeneration of stats.
17. I believe the damage multipliers for pistoleers, carbineers and riflemen are for the normal state. When they are knocked down they take an additional 1.5x damage. All MOBs take that 1.5x damage when they are knocked down. You might want to add in that Heavy Weapons, the LLC and Flamethrower get the 2.5x damage like riflemen. The sentence you have in about getting close to them, is unneccessary and divisive. IMO, this is a FAQ, that is a cheap shot.
18. The highest damage is against riflemen or heavy weapon users when they are knocked down. The note should be that that is a damage done per one attack.
19. I would change the editorial. Just note that currently kinetic is the only kind of damage done and that currently the Correspondent is lobbying for stun or blast Knucks.
20. This is just a pure editorial shot at other professions. Jedi, I think, do not have a bleed shot either.
Overall great job on the FAQ!!! These are just a few minor revisions I would suggest. Overal the FAQ is well done.
Teräs Käsi Artist FAQ 1.1
Since we keep seeing the same questions over and over in this forum, it seemed like it was time to sit down and write out a list of Frequently Asked Questions. Please add your revisions or other questions here and I'll add them to the FAQ as soon as possible.
As you probably know, the SWG forums are not the best place to host long documents like this. To post it on the forums, I'd have to break it up into 5 sections, and even then I wouldn't be able to edit it. To make everything easier, I've just hosted it on my website.
You might what to answer the question.."I just made Novice. What branch should I go up first?" That seems to be a popular one.
I'm pretty sure that the macro is correct. Make sure you start out with your VK selected. Here's an explanation of the macro to help you debug your setup:
The UnattendedAttackParent macro is the outer loop. It calls the attack macro, waits 20 seconds (which should be enough time for you to kill the mob), harvests and calls itself again.
The UnattendedMacro does the actual attacking. If you are having trouble getting the attack to work, just try hitting F7 instead of F8. You can also trytyping each command manually one at a time to see what it does.
There are 2important things to remember with the macros: 1. the slot numbers begin counting at zero (for exampletoolbarSlot00 corresponds to F1) and 2. macros are case sensitive, so if you type it wrong it won't work.
/ui action targetSelf; /ui action cycleTarget; These commands target you, then target the closest enemy.
/ui action toolbarSlot04; This is the same as hitting F5. If you have your CDEF weapon in F5, this command will equip it (or unequip it....which is why you need to start the macro while holding your VK).
/attack; This commands will cause you to attack the selected mob with the CDEF weapon.
/pause 3;/ui action toolbarSlot05; This command tells the computer to wait 3 seconds (to give you a chance to hit the mob with your CDEF), and then switch to your VK.
Here's what should happen.
1. You start the macro.
2. The macro targets the closest mob.
3. The macro equips the CDEF weapon.
4. The macro fires 1 or 2 shots with the CDEF (depending on the weapon's speed).
5. The mob charges at you.
6.The macro switches so that you are holding your VK
7.Since you are already in attack mode, you finish off the mob with your VK.
8. The macroharvests the corpse and begins again at #2.
BTW, you can use the /dump command to end the macro.
Although not a TK ability, VK's with good wound % can
actually cause a creature to begin to bleed (not very much though)
I guess wound damage has that chance.
I cannot seem to get this macro to work
Everything works like it is supposed to, but the "/ui action cycletargetOutward" doesn't do anything.
Anyone have any ideas?
