I have been reading teh post by teh correspondent about how some if not most of the defense bonuses do not stack between melee classes. This interrupts my orginal intention to go Fencer/ TKA master. What is the best alternative proffession for someone who wants to do a lot of PvP?

I'm likeing TKM/ Master Doctor. Only problem is going up hills... not enought for terrain negoatiation

master brawler with intimidation2, warcry2, lunge2 is a worthy choice

Just a quick question. For the tree of the left on Fencer, with +12-15 on ranged and melee throughout the entire tree.. do those stack? I could understand dodge not stacking since TKAs don't even GET that mod, but I'll be really disappointed if the ranged and melee D from Fencer don't stack.

Well mounts pretty much make being a scout worthless. Also most of the pvp that occurs happens inside of a city and most cities are flat with the exception of Kor Vellah and maybe another city.

I am pistoleer/tka/smuggler pistol line with medic. Makes life nice becasue you can do alot of damage reguardless of ranged or melee combat. If your enemy has two legs they are even more screwed because i can make em fall before i go melee. The defense stacking is nice too.

Ranged and melee defense stack.

The only mods that dont stack are ones like "Unarmed Melee Toughness" and "Two-Handed Melee Toughness". If it has One-Handed/Polearm/Unarmed/Two-handed in front of the skill (i.e. CoB) then it doesn't stack. All the other generic mods (counterattack, dodge, block, ranged defense, melee defense) all stack.

TKM with Master brawler the defense line in fencer and master rifleman.

Overall Defense stats:

Melee-176

Ranged-178

Actually, this may not be true... the pistoleer correspondant did some testing with dodge and found that the pistoleer dodge mods only work with a pistol equipped, so one can only assume they won't stack with other weapon mods either. Here's the link to his test

I counterattack just as much with no weapon/VK's equipped than I do with a 2handed sword equipped, which is where all my counterattack mods come from.

I was just drawing from my own experiences with the only evasion "move" i have.

Master Doc if you wanna be a PvE killing machine .... Pistoleer and master brawler if you wanna be a PvE killing machine. CH if you arent master yet and are striving to get there but after you master just drop it.

Here is an interesting combination which probably no one ever has thought of.

I am a TK and a Chef. Ican make all my own buffs. It's a great combination. I get to enjoy both sides of the street as both a good combat artist as well as crafting in an interesting profession which not only helps me, but many others as well.

TKA/Pistol/smuggler

Its great to use /panicshot; /lowblow then come in with the knucks for the kill
