Thread: AM I THE only one who thinks swg is too **edit** easy
Maybe you could try chaning professions to get some involvement.
As a person who has both a Master Crafter and a Master Combat character, I can say that from a crafting standpoint the game remains challenging because you are always trying to keep your business going, looking for a better resource and building up a customer base. So for those of you that are bored with running around killing things and blowing things up maybe you should try going up a crafting tree.
For those that don't want to switch over to a crafting tree, I find that I am still having a great deal of fun grouping with folks in My PA and hunting for things some of our crafters need. I have been running around Endor this week for instance harvesting Endor Herbivore Meat for some of our PA Doctors to use.
In summary, I think a lot of people buy this game and think that they can just sit back now and it's up to SOE to entertain you and make it enjoyable but in truth SOE provides some content (they do have a good amount) and it is up to the player to expand on that, use their creativity and make it enjoyable on a regular basis.
I know on Naritus we havea Bounty Hunters Guild that people go to and sign up to be marks and then anyone on the server can put a payable bounty on their heads that all the BHs on Naritus can try to complete. It's something the players did as an add-on to the game to give good content. We also have great role-players and story-tellers on our server that keeps thing very interesting and have an upcoming BOT IV (Battle of Tatooine IV) that is occuring next weekend where the Rebs and Imps are going to meet at the Tusken Fort (forming up at opposite entrances as Overts) and the first side that gets thru the fort and destroys a turret on the opposite side wins the battle. This was put together by players for fun and excitement and should be a great time. I think if people aren't having fun with this game they aren't trying enough and just need to add some of their own fun to it.

Plenty to do if you look.
While I agree the game lacks content (I also played AC for a long time), Sony has given us alot of tools we can use on our own.
There are some quests out there, but since this is not a loot oriented game, most don't do them since you don't get uber items at the end. But the journey is the adventure I say.
Do Jabbas palace for the experience of it.
Do the warren for a very cool story.
Do the Emperors Retreat just to meet Vader.
Visit some POI's, not just for the badges, but to explore the galaxy and see whats out there.
Get a group of friends together and go raid a faction base, or faction city.
Go overt, head to an opposing faction area, and let the fun begin.
Help a noob out.
Try another profession.
Everyone is waiting for Sony to give is things to do, but with a little imagination and using what Sony has provided already, there is no reason to get bored. In time there will be more content added. And I should point out that even at release, Asherons Call didnt have near the amount of content it does now, and even there the content is usually level restricted.
Content will be added, we havent even gotten to the space expansion. Patience young padawans. ![]()

I can kind of relate to what the original poster is saying.. as an almost master TK, the missions I get off the mission terminals are a joke.. Level 25 on starter planets and level 32 on advanced.. they're just too easy. KD/Dizzy or KD/Warcry and you can pretty muchbeat anything in the game. The few challenging fights I get I have to go hunt for. Hit the Janta village, or such. It's not even that I'm getting bored with the game itself, I'm just getting bored running unchallenging missions that I don't have to spend 20 minutes finding and hope they're not being camped. I can only kill pickets somany more times before I'm completely bored ![]()
But as for your points..
Jabba.. so I can run delivery missions and get a fishing pole? that sounds fun.
Warren.. wasn't bad.. I'd like to see more stuff along this line.
Emperor's retreat.. neutral so can't do.
POIs are neat for the exploring.. but that's about it.
Raids.. neutral again.. even then.. Hit a faction base that's bugged or the other side uses an exploit to save it.. so all that hard work I did is for nothing.. yeah that's fun too..
Overt.. yay! my stuff gets to decay as I get beat from someone using group TEF. Or even more fun is to get stuck in a group TEF/clone spam fest.
There's just little reason to do these things.. I know what you're trying to say, but most of these things aren't challenging or there's no story behind them.
Overall I'm having fun with the game, but not having all that much fun doing the little things in the game.
it's like any other game you buy, you make it what you want. if you are bored, buy another game.i've been in the game since the beginning and have managed to enjoy it. ioccasionally play other games so i don't get burned out on one game. there are some good suggestions by people in this thread. as to the other people who are the usual complainers of tka being all powerful...can't you talk about anything new. do you realize we were also nerfed in beginning of game and finally was fixed a couple months ago? have you seen what the fencers can do now. it's nota badprofession. swordsman aren't working as they should yet, but they aren't as bad as the pikeman. tka and fencers are supposed to do fast damage on opponents, live with it. pike and swords are supposed to be slower with more damage. also, remember, tka is based on martial arts. think about what that is based on. pikeman are only melee who have a true right to cry right now, and most of the time you don't hear from them. most of the time i see complaints, it comes from a swordsman or a shooter who made the mistake of letting us get to close.
i want cakin to remember all his comments when swordsman is fully funcitioning and everyone who can't pvp wants to cut the swordman because he is overpowered. also, why don't you talk to a fencer and see how they feel about their profession. if you want to make yourself tougher, sit down and figure up what will build with your swordsman mods. most of the uber tkm's you see are actually a conglomeration of profs.
p.s. don't forget it takes same amount of points to build a master swordsman and tkm. earn respect, don't always ask for nerfs.

If they do make this game grp only if you wanna lvl they can kiss alot of people goodbye im sure.. not everyone wants to spend an hour gettin a grp together for 30 mins before someone in the grp leaves and another and another.

Baaric, every think of trying a faction? Being neutral, you are missing half the game...
Yes I have.. and found that it was more grief then fun so I went back to neutral. I can only stand getting shot down in the streets of coronet so many times before I find it not fun.
I'm not a very good PvPer and that's probably why I don't enjoy it.. I don't have an uber template, and don't have the flavor of the month template. I play classes that I liked, initially a doc. And there's nothing like getting jumped when coming back with a TEF at 7:1 odds and the best pistol you can use is a CDEF.. I'm not that way now, but you get the idea. Perhaps I should "practice" more PvP and I might enjoy it, but when I see 5:1 odds I'm not going to jump into a battle I can't win.
Not to turn this into a GCW thread and hijack this.. but I just can't find a "reason" to be involved. I don't enjoy a 2 hours battle thanks to group TEF, that really should have been 10 minutes. I can't find a reason to save up faction points.. I can't find a reason to go up in rank.. Faction bases are bugged, well some are.. turrets are bugged, battlefields are bugged/useless.. there's no "oppression" to encourage me to "rebel" against the imperial. There's no "perk" to being loyal to the empire to encourage me to be loyal. Maybe I'm jaded and not seeing the grander picture but to me there's just nothing to encourage me to be involved in the GCW (at least in game)..
As to the TKA topic.. I don't know if any of the comments above were directed to me or not.. but I don't have a problem with anything TKA, I think it's a very good class, and pretty powerful.. My gripe is just that mission levels are WAY off and in general way off, not just for a TKA. Level 25 missions are a cake walk for any TKA who knows what they're doing. I like to see more difficult missions, and mission that require you to do something other then deliver this, or kill this random nest of creatures.. I suppose you have things like the warren, or the "dungeons" but they're almost to the extreme end of needing to be a group of 20. They're either really easy or really hard.
One of the challenging spots I like to go to is to solo the Sif mercs on Talus, I find them just the right level.. not too hard, not tooeasy, deadly in groups. Problem is there's no story here.. I'd love to know they're on Talus.. Why doesn't Errand Sif try to hire me when I best all her men.. things like that is what I think this is missing. And why can't I get missions of this level off the mission terminal? That's what I'm after. I don't think TKA needs any adjustment.. just an adjustment in what level the game things we are as masters. And I think this is a problem in general not just with TKAs.
Not really trying to rant.. just want to make the game better honestly. ![]()
