Thread: UPDATE: Teras Kasi Is Finally Fixed (Preliminary TC Data + more when I've got the rest!)

This is all at MASTER TK

Unarmed Damage + 250
Unarmed Speed + 120
Unarmed Center of Being Effiacy + 90
Unarmed Center of Duration +30

(TC is loading right now so I havent been able to calculate the rest of the stuff)

We have a new ability from Brawler called Center of Being, this is basically the tank thing Holocron was talking about. It allows you to concentrate on avoiding damage. There is an efficiency Mod for it (Being Efficacy) as I showed you. And a Duration mod. I don't know how they work yet.

We also have a new mod called Defense Acuity. Instead of giving us Dodge/Evade/Block/Counter Attack mods like Pistoleer has we have them ALL in ONE Mod.

The mod allows you to randomly based on how high the mod is respond to attacks with the above maneuvers. A random counter attack / dodge / evade or block. At Advacned Precison Striking we get +110 as far as I recall and I know in the end we have quite a bit of this mod so expect this to be a VERY good Big Patch. Well we've all been waiting for this its time to rejoice. It's been a long pull, and I'm happy to deliver the news to all the TK who've stuck with this profession since Launch (myself included)

Teras Kasi -- It's finally working!

I'll get the rest of the data when TC comes back up. I can't tell you right now if any of the fudge factor stuff has been fixed but we are at least fully-good-to-go in terms of stat mods, defenses and such. Supposing the scaled up all the mods correctly. Thats why its in testing though so lets hope it comes out well

ERr not just defense all the mods in the boxes. I'll be very grateful for it. If I get all the TC data and the current Live stuff hasn't been posted here I'll get on Live and get all the data there too and still do the cross comparison you'd just be giving me a big hand by taking care of that part for me

i had to coment on this.

I see this come up alot, that people think master brawler gives them an advantage in pvp. Let me say somthing, and i hope it hits home my point here. the only thing master brawler does to aid in pvp, is bump unarmed toughness ( wich only covers kinetic dmg) to 62% from 57%. Thats it. it only helps you if you are infact pvping vs another melee type.

intimdate 2: in pvp not better then intimdate 1, intimdate2 really shines in pve, were mobs have 10k + ham.

arcuarcy +5: useless because in order to get a TKM to get below 100% acruacy you must have over 80 melee defense, but in the case somone has nearly 100 then i guess +5 helps out.

speed +5: useless with the speed of our Knucks at 2.2, master tk easily gets us to speed cap at 1.0, and perhaps even at .5 when those changes go in.

I suspect though that the reason you said that is not really for those above things, but for lunge 2.

This is the biggest mis-consception in the melee comunity atm.

lunge 2 is in-fact worse then lunge 1 in pvp. You would not think so but it aucutaly really is. The reason behind this is because its a knock down w/o dizzy. Its alot like a TKM with smugler who has low blow, they use low blow, but by the time they get to them the target is up and moving again. lunge 2 kds the target at 15m range, it takes on average 3.5 seconds to get within range of the target after the server client catchs up. That is why you see about 3. 5 seconds worth of him sliding across the screen. at this time you have no time to finish the fight, he gets back up and continues kiting.

The best, and absolute best tactic tkm or tkm +master brawler in pvp vs a kiter is: lunge1 + kd2, then finish the fight with UH3s.

KD2 is really important as it does nearly 400 dmg in pvp, and dizzys, lunge does no dmg, and blows your kd timer, and wastes the oprotunity to use your hard hitting specials. its important to use these specials when somoen is lying kd'd on the ground, because you get full dmg.

or you can beat ranged guys even easier with doc and entertainer'sbuff or pets......ok ok, I'll shut up now before Nikolai gets mad again....

Anyhow, this is all seems too good to be true. Is there any catch to it??

If they upped our defence and damage, won't other people with other professions bi*ching about it??

Omega, no catch. It's all good. And really, no one can bitch, we are melee. We're at a serious disadvantage inherently. The other melee's got the same loving (mostly I hope I havent actually gone into it but im sure they got something)

As for the master brawler I really dont want to take this off topic so please, just for one thread lets stay on topic. I'll only make one comment. I have Master Brawler, and I've won countless matches vs ranged opponents from BHs to carbs to pistols and Commandos, using strategies coming from abilities in MB (Int2/WC2 + Lunge2 and my TK abilities) I'll just say it WORKS. It's not a insta-pwn. I don't want to be insta-pwn but it gives us a lot of balance and thats all im going to say in that regard.

I really would like posters to refrain from posting off topic (I'd like to get a nice clean informative thread for everyone in our community on TC's new changes for us) so, im simply asking to not turn this into a debate. (Valkari made her comment, I made mine, lets end it there)

ok i'll stay on topic, but thats why i said i had to coment,...why because i too am or was master brawler. I have an eye for detail, and like to theorize things with which i witness.

although your opinion is yours, and perhaps shared, master brawler atleast from my experiences, looking at the comparison of pros, and cons, insome situations in PVP makes you less viable then simply being TK w/o M-brawler. the tools for success almost soley for pvp reside in the unarmed tree, or tka trees. IMO that is.

but then again like you said, thats for another topic. I just hate to give people the impression its so wonderfull for pvp, then once they spend the points get a real sense of let down. pve, i will say master brawler is nearly worth it.

Never had to tank an AT-ST in PvP have you? Or better yet, 3 of them? I'll grant that it's MORE useful in PvE than PvP, but it still holds a great advantage over intimidate 1, especially when you have trouble hitting your target due to "out of range"

arcuarcy +5: useless because in order to get a TKM to get below 100% acruacy you must have over 80 melee defense, but in the case somone has nearly 100 then i guess +5 helps out.

Lunge 1 + KD2 is in fact my preferred tactic in PvP, but to say lunge2 is worthless is wrong. A number of times I have used lunge1 on my target, hit them with KD2 and they have resisted the knockdown but not the dizzy, then run off. What do I do then? Smack them with lunge2 of course. They fall down, go boom, I rearrange their face. Now that lunges do damage also it's not bad for just following those ever-so-out-of-range kiters smacking them repeatedly with it until they die, wondering how you can hit them from 10m (never use VKs with lunge, it screws your range bad).

Lunges have started doing damage again since the last patch. Have you logged in since then?

You forgot the final reason for Master Brawler. Warcry2. A 20 second delay in a cone in front of you that can be used at 20m. If that's not valuable in PvP I don't know what is.

i wont continue to quote, because the quotes are getting bigger then the post, but i will say this.

*if you are tanking AT-STs obviously you will find having a benifit of using intimdate 2 over intimdate 1, do you really think i am that neive? please. in general pvp, were very very few brings an at st out, and since they are no longer healable that is not really a problem. I on the other hand have no problem droping a grual mauler in less then 30 seconds in pvp if i need to. intimdate 1 works just as good, probably not as good, but considering the poitns spent, it works never the less. you did ask me if ive ever tanked an AT-ST....im imperail for one, read the above for 2, and ive tanked harder mobs.

*lunge 2 isn't worthless in your senario, but it still doesn't buy you much in the specific senario you mentioned. most people have on average a 3.5 second delay between the knock down, and getting into a 3.8m range, of wich is the range of a vibro knuckler. i never said its worthless, i jsut said its one giant mis-conception that lunge 2 is supperior, wich it is not. Even you said you use it as a back up, not a replacement.

lets examin your senario for a second. you lunge1 +kd2, then kd2 fails, the target gets up, the only special you have left that will be in range is lunge2. you use it, and it works, but under that same senario, you have just as likly chance it fails as the kd2. lets say like you did you make it a back up, smart, but what does that buy you? about 1 speical. it buys you UH3 once perhaps, then thats it, unless you managed to land dizzy w/o knocking down your target, and in that case Lunge 2 would serve its purpose and be usefull.

so we have narrowed down the usefull ness to lunge 2 to a random rare senario that might occur 1 out of 100 possible senarios. is that worth the points spent? up to you, M brawler isn't a point sink, its just not that effective in pvp compared to normal tkm.

* warcry, intimdate and even berserk 2, simply just last longer. i surely hope you dont plan on chasing a kiter for 2+ minutes. I can't afford that even with those effects on, because i can't wear armor, and thus i need to either quickly run the other way lure into a building, if i can't finish my fights within a 30 second time period.

for me at least Master brawler.....which i had....bought me no real prizes in PVP specificly. pve it was nice, and i miss intimdate 2.

man im lost somewhere......what is this noxon montana sign doing here?

So have I, Intimidate2 is definitely a godsend in PvE. And it's true that since commandos got fixed you don't see AT-STs in PvP that often. Anda few people on my server are learning that a TKM/Master Brawler/Novice Swordsman with a power hammer is just as deadly to their steel chickens

Ah, I see. Agreed, it's not superior, but still very useful in my book. Almost worthless in PvE though.

That's the exact scenario I was trying to describe, and it happens to me more often than I'd like (they resist the KD but dizzy sticks). YMMV.

Ah, I use armor on occasion (in particular an 80% acid resist composite helm) and am frequently buffed by a master doctor, so perhaps my view of their usefulness is somewhat skewed. IMHO if you didn't have near constant access to a master doctor, getting doctor yourself is probably a better investment than Master Brawler.
