Im going to have TKM and Master Ranger, and have a few points to play with. More into PvE than PvP.

What combos do you like/use?

I'm a master musician TKM..Doesn't go as well as doc does with TKM, but it's great if ya like entertaining.

Plus, my character is self-sufficient when it comes to healing! Meditate the wounds off, musician for the B/F.

Going Master Swordsman and TKM already, tkm because its handy with the wound heals, and looks great when doing unarmed III hit. and swords because i love swords hehe

Novice Brawler, Master TKA
Profesions given up:
Creature Handler ( ok they nerfed me Graul Maulers so yes im a wuss )
Bounty Hunter (most fun prof in this game and i'll probably go back to it! )
Doctor ( Was a nightmare, no please or thankyous most of the time for free wound heals!)
Commando (was fun, but then got boring hehe)

I'm a TKM / Master Ranger. I'm seriously thinking of going for master doctor as well. Doctor's are becoming more rare on my server.

On my alt toon I have Master Doc / TKM. It works well to buff my Jedi & my TKM.

I can heal myself, cure states.. and take on alot more than most TKM's.

Only thing I got to watch out for is the mind. But a good master dancer buff and chef

foods works well.

Other good combos are Pistoleer and TKM.. because of the Dodge bonus but i dunno

if they are taking that away soon or not.

I went the TKM MCH route because I love animals and being along side them as they tear apart their pray.

but if you truely want ot be self suficient I'd go for entertainer to heal BF and Doctor so you can self buff

TKA + rifle. Not because it is supposed to rule pvp but because it is damn fun. You get two completely different playing styles. You can hang back and play sniper support or you can rush in and dish it out hand to hand. The defensive bonuses stack really well too. It also allows you to fight in groups if you don't happen to have buffs. Just stay out of the fight and snipe. I use 360+ vbrandy and when stacked you can spam rifle specials all day (same with using a VK but have to watch action a little). I know self buffing would be nice but if you want a pure fighter it is pointless. Atkm with self buffs if just a tkm with buffs. A tkm with someone elses buffs is a tkm with a crap load of other defenses But this is just play style I guess.

I am a big fan of combining ranged with melee to round a character out. I find it completely poinltess to put away my melee vk to be able to whip out another melee weapon to...uh... melee with it. There are several points left over too so you can dabble here and there or min/max stack some more. The concept of tkm/rifleman is one of high offense/modest defense. I prefer to dish out the damage over dodging around like a little pransing fairy.

I was building a little fencer in it too get more defense bonuses but am holding off on that awaiting the combat ballances to see what goes where and what doesn't stack and what not (say what?). It comes down to one thing: Rifleman is fun, TKM is fun so that is what I went back too (started out as a rifleman when I started). I tried pistol but didn't like it due to pistol sucking the big lemon in it's current state. Carbine was actually rather fun but a friend is going carbine and we all like to be something different (funny thing to mention is that carbine has a very high action cost and you need to be buffed and rifle has a very high mind cost and you need to be buffed...but seeing howanyone always self-buff mind anyway and you need a doc to buff action and substats unless using food/spice therebyelimiting precious mind buffs...I find using rifle easier than carbine, even with the mind drain. Hope that makes sense).

One nice thing about spending a few points in pistol to boost defenses is that you can pick up smuggler and be able to slice all those containers you find in caves and bases. Would be nice to get a little extra loot. Did it once and still have some pistol trained. I might keep that option open when combat ballances come in. I have a feeling many profession trees are going to be mixed up a little so no point wasting all my time now.

Another thing I seriously contemplated was tka/commando. Other professions needing unarmed as a prereq make it easy to dive into tka because you are spending the points anyway. You may not have insane defenses but there is something fun about pulling out the most powerful weapons in the game from time to time. When the GCW is evolved into something more spectacular commando's will really find their niche.

I have played around with the points a lot (cause I find that fun for some sick reason) and the things that tempted me were of the following three:

1) TKM/ranged weapon- to be able to play both sides of the fence and have good defenses to compliment TKM.

2) TKM/Commando- Big punches and Big weapons.

3) TKM/CH- Very common and I had fun at first but discovered that pets held me back and slowed me down so dropped it. Before dropping it though I seriously considered TKM/ Ranger tracking (possible traps too for a kick)/CH. This sounds really fun imo because you get tracking skills (trapping if taken) and still have enough into CH to whip out a serious tank (BE pet of course) plus it fits the wholetough ranger with pet theme (rifleman works well in the concept too and very popular with CH...hunter with gun theme). I still think this would be a fun option if I wasn't going pure fighter.

As for your extra points...MEDIC. I can't believe you left that open as an option. The way this game is, every character doesn't have 250 points when starting. You have 235 freebies cause medic is the first thing you take. Hell even the medic stat template is closest to what you will end up with anyway (mind, mind, mind and a little in other stats).

If you are going to be Master Ranger and TKM then you have basically the same template as me and only have two choices remaining.

Novice CH and 3 skills in a single tree.
Novice Medic and 1 skill on any tree.

I personally chose CH so i could have a companion on my hunts, i solo stacks mainly.. Depends on if you want to keep master ranger or not really, if not then the other options suggested would all be interesting..

TKM/Rifleman. Yes I am a temploiter.

I love solo-PvPing. It's just fun taking out people all by myself. It's a challenge.

Also like the previous poster said before me, it's two different playing styles. It gives me versatility and allows me to adapt to almost any situation.

I'm also a master brawler.

*Points to sig* The power of tka combined with the defenses of fencer combined with the usefulness of intimidate2 lunge2 and warcry2 is awesome.
