Hey there,

Is there any formula you guys use to price clothes? I tried using the Price Calculators in one of the stickied post, but it was too confusing for me.

You guys have any base price, and stuff like that?

I think alot just use the calqs,

they are actualy simple

set what you pay for resource and hit the figure button...it does that work

most have a modifier you can choose for skill level as well.

Pricing is always such a personal by choice thing no craft has any one way they do it.

A few recommendations for what you may want to reflect in your prices:

Check neighborhood vendors.

Do you mine/harvest your own items, or buy them?

What is popular on your server.

Do you want do bulk items at lower cost or personlized styles at higher?

It is fully a choice your own.

But useing the calqs ( and learning to use them) goes a long way

my new favorite calq, set and go to next step, then sort as you want

Simple,

You can baseline price by tier level, for example a novice item 1000cr, tier 2 cost 3000, Master items 6000c.

Really you can price any way you like, its not like your going to run into a ton of competition. Then for Bio Items you can again price however you like, but look around and find a nice price picture.

CPU prices for tailor make no sense, our items are not affected by resource quality and take very few resources. On the other hand there arent very many tailors so you have greater freedom in your pricing.

Tailor is one of those goofy crafts, you know the ones, we make items that nobody really needs but want none-the-less. Sure some could say that our items are necessary for CAs, BIO bonuses etc. Im here to tell ya, Ive never used a CA and have done fine so they are not strictly speaking "necessary". BIO clothing, about the only folks that really consider that a necessity are buffers (docs, dancers, musicians). Yes I know other people use them but its not like they are absolutly necessary.

Be a tailor because you enjoy the craft, not for the creds. If your after creds there are better crafts for that.

Just my opinion.

I price by tier. It works pretty well, because you become familiar with the prices for mostitems. I increase the prices for items that take a lot of components, are a pain to make, or that just sell to quickly. I used to give discounts for items that hadless than 4 sockets, but that was just a major PAIN!

((((resource units*cpu cost)+((component cost*markup)*number of components)))*(1+ (item complexity/100)))*teir multiplier = retail price

I have a pretty elaborate spreadsheet i picked up over a year ago I could mail you if you're interested.

Wow! I read that and decided that looked like too much effort to do every time i had an order

I guess I am pretty lazy in pricing - I do CPU but don't add extra for factory running cost etc. Almost all my items are either 10, 15, or 20 cpu ... 15 cpu being the norm for stocking my vendor. The only things I charge extra for are the limited use schematics and BE tissues (if i use 4 and you only get the benefits of 2 - you're still paying for 4)
