The most is not new, but i think it is good to have a complete information.

I hope there is a now information for the idea-team for SOE

We have not so many Tailor ... why?
simple answer: Nobody can life from this job
And why not? some problems (without special sequence):

  • Clothes are not realy needed (the most ...)

  • It is possible to wear Clothes with 0/xxxx Condition

  • Clothes lost no Condition, only by death (sometimes)

  • to few identification-possibities available

  • to many clothes in to many different color possible,
so it is not possible to have 10% or more from available Clothes in the available colors in the vendor and that give us not the chance to have a "complete" sortiment ...

some Ideas:

  • make it impossible that anyone wear Clothes with Condition 0/xxxx

  • clothes must absolutely lose something at Condition
(for Example: If anyone wear a clothes the first time, a timer start and the clothes lose now 3 points per day. If anyone wear the clothes or not)

  • Clothing-Color-Kit
to change the color of clothes

  • Include Clothes for the professions
    (for Example:

    • a Loot-Schematic (RARE!!!) for a Coat and the Tailor can set the Profession.

    • The Tailor need special items to make the coat: Peko-Peko-feather, Heavy Duty Clasp/Leather or other

    • The Coat have only 1-3 different available Colors (to make sure that the Logo is good to see and no Ranger have a RED coat) AND the Indication of the Profession on it (Looks like the Profession-Icons in the SWG-Forum)

    • This Coat can only wear a Master in the Profession

    • This Coat have a Skill what is usefull for a master in the profession

  • Include Bracelets (or other items for all races) with a optional craft-lot
and include jewels as a rare loot-item. This jewels can have special powers:
    for example:

    • +50-100 health or constitution or willpower or or or

    • (if it from the health-typ, it have a red glowing, action green and mind blue ...)

    • or +5-10 Force-Regenaration or +100-200 Force-Power

    • or +5 Persuasion

    • or +1 Luck

    • or ...

  • Include other clothes with special skill/powers
But include all times rare resources with a multi-use (2x HeavyDuty Clasp/3x HeavyDuty Leather) in the schematics

We have enough Clothes which nobody wants to wear ...

PS: please fix the design from the belts ... there is not a "swim-ring"

i dont like the idea of clothing decaying 3 a day. doesnt make sense to me. now, clothing decaying in combat sounds like a sound idea.

one thing i do not undestand, is why you would want less color options. style in swg is not something that should be limited.

clothes have 1000 condition ... 3 point per day (or 2 point if that better) give you 1 year or more point AND a tailor can repair the clothes ...

i like many colors, but first: the most colors are not in use and if we drop 50% of the colors you have than enough colors for the clothes ... it is easyer for a tailor to make new stuff in the same color, to have a big sortiment ... aso .... aso ... i dont say "4 basic-colors" ...

If the jewelry was to take mods, it would need to be through a new tissue to go into jewelry settings

Peko-Peko or any other RARE stuff ... and i know that not the tailor can kill the creature ... but the point is "more interaction" between the professions ... i wish that the new stuff is RARE and not make in a factory ...

and i think the a NEW type of BE-Elements also a possilbe way is ... but we need BE-Elements which not can incl. in normal clothes ...

Going to reply to some points....

We dont have many tailors on farstar for sure, ive noticed that and id prefer more, because i get far too busy.

We can very easily live from this job... I have done so and i have a higher bank balance than anyone i know, it all depends on costs of living, i dont really buy anything, i just maintain a couple of guildhalls/houses and 8 factories. and buy resources. My vendor sales profits come out far higher than my expenses. Other tailors may buy a lot of things for their other proffession(s) I dont really do anything other than tailoring.

the 0 Condition bug should be fixed somewhen soon(im sure i remember a response to this stating that)

I never thought id hear a tailor state there is too many colour/clothes combinations, but as far as i am concerned there is no such thing as too much, i keep anywhere between 3000-4000 items of clothing on my vendors at any one time, ive got most clothing/colour combinations covered, and every single item is represented to some degree. If i can do it, i dont doubt there are pleanty of others out there who can/do do the same or even better. I would class my vendors as showing a complete selection.

I agree that 0 condition clothing should not be equipable (should really destroy)

I Disagree clothing should decay over time

I Disagree with clothing colour-kit, as it trivializes all the effort i put into tailoring and keeping vendors with the stock levels i do.

Clothes for Proffessions and Bracelets sound like great idea's, More clothes is allways a good thing.

I also Agree on the belts being fixed

(for Example: If anyone wear a clothes the first time, a timer start and the clothes lose now 3 points per day. If anyone wear the clothes or not)

  • Clothing-Color-Kit to change the color of clothes MAYBE. If Tailors could make the dyes then we would still have the market share, some folks change their style but have a great modded piece that no longer matches. This would solve that problem without taking us out of the picture.

  • Include Clothes for the professions EH... Would prefer to see more BE tissues and DE mods (for the crafting professions. It makes no sense that you would have a biological item that aids you in crafting a house, but a micro computer sewn into your jacket.....)But I do like the idea of using the Profession Icons as logos on clothes (the idea of having the sewing machine on the back of my jacket amuses me)
    (for Example:

    • a Loot-Schematic (RARE!!!) for a Coat and the Tailor can set the Profession.

    • The Tailor need special items to make the coat: Peko-Peko-feather, Heavy Duty Clasp/Leather or other

ha ha! Swim rings... I like that, but I always called them hoola-hoops.

Personally, I would like to see the types of clothes that can take on BE tissues expanded (me: "No, you can't have melee defence in that, this, nor that") and the colour pallete expanded on most of the gloves and shoes.

Tailors CAN make a decent living from the profession if you're willing to spend some time in front of your crafting station/droid and pump out a lot of things. Tailoring is much more "crafting" intensive than many of the other professions because it doesn't make sense to make factory crates of decorative headdress or pink and white camos with BE tissues ( I sell about 1 every 2 weeks )

And whenI throw my Master Tailor tag up and hit Coronet, I can keep myself very busy on a weekend afternoon.

  • Clothes are not realy needed (the most ...) Umm... Unless you are a Wookie, this is might not be very realistic. But seeing everyone running around butt-naked might be good for a laugh

  • If you became a tailor purely to make money, then I think you're in it for the wrong reason. You have to enjoy what you are doing no matter what. I can't say that I have 15 million in my bank, but it pays for all my expenses and then some, so I can't complain about it.

Right now this is the biggest thing that I have been pushing for since it had already been promised to us quite awhile ago and I think it is something modest enough to actually get done while they are doing these quick publishes that have been coming out.

    some Ideas:

    • make it impossible that anyone wear Clothes with Condition 0/xxxx I pushed for this during my term and as Gyopi said, she's pushing for it as well. A lot.

    • clothes must absolutely lose something at Condition
(for Example: If anyone wear a clothes the first time, a timer start and the clothes lose now 3 points per day. If anyone wear the clothes or not) This is on the "big list" of long term changes (see "top 5"). Realistically, this will take more dev time than we are probably allotted until after the combat changes (just a guess on my part).

    • Clothing-Color-Kit
to change the color of clothes This idea was pretty universally hated when proposed. There are links to previous discussions in the link directory.

    • Include Clothes for the professions
      (for Example:

      • a Loot-Schematic (RARE!!!) for a Coat and the Tailor can set the Profession.

      • The Tailor need special items to make the coat: Peko-Peko-feather, Heavy Duty Clasp/Leather or other It's my understanding that most tailors are dang tired of having combat types say "I did all the work getting you lewt, why should I have to pay you." Less loot components, please, not more.
