Currently mods on clothing still work even if the clothing is 'broken'
BUT
This may not always hold true in the future.
SO your options:
- Repair now while some condition is left in hopes of saving a larger portion of condition
- Keep item insured every time it is worn to avoid further reduction
- Wear it past down to no condition and hope a change never comes that disallows equipping of 'broken' clothes
*I would repair it and insure it myself...but that's just as a Tailor each patch brings the hopes that decay will matter.

No need to repair it, that is if you're using it for the Med Exp alone, which I'm assuming you are. I kept all my clothing with Med Exp mods in the house that I crafted meds with and changed in and out of the crafting outfit as needed, never wearing it out of the house.

I would have to agree with this if it is just the med experimentation that you use. For my crafting outfits I put them on when I craft in my crafting area and when I am done I drop them next to my crafting station for the next time I need them. I have had them for a very long time and they are still 1000/1000 because there is no way I will die with them being worn.
