... why we can't make BE clothing atm.
... why we can't put their clothing/armor attachments into the clothing they want so it will become the BE'd clothing.
... why we can't get 4 sockets on demand.
... why the specific piece of clothing they want that uses synthetic cloth wont' magically become combat BE'd clothing.
... why we can't make them the 'specific' Jedi robes ... so they can lookEXACTLY like a padawan. (been asked this the last week at least4 times ... was even told 2x it's ok if you don't include the Force use with it because I dont think I can use it at this point.)
Any concise explanations you may use that people actually 'get' and 'understand' would be appreciated so I can try it. I try to explain things thoroughly, spend 20-30 minutes explaining it, thensuddenly I'm back to square one & they're asking for things they can't have (atm) again. I'm starting to feel like I've been banging my head onmy deskway too long lol
... or shouldIjust expect to continue banging my headand maybe invest in a desktop pillow?

Because SOE, as usual, broke something and didnt bother to fix it
... why we can't put their clothing/armor attachments into the clothing they want so it will become the BE'd clothing.
Because it doesnt work that way, direct them to the forums for an explanation of how it DOES work
... why we can't get 4 sockets on demand.
Because tailoring is an art, and you have to work to create a master piece
... why the specific piece of clothing they want that uses synthetic cloth wont' magically become combat BE'd clothing.
Again, Because it doesnt work that way, direct them to the forums for an explanation of how it DOES work
... why we can't make them the 'specific' Jedi robes ... so they can lookEXACTLY like a padawan. (been asked this the last week at least4 times ... was even told 2x it's ok if you don't include the Force use with it because I dont think I can use it at this point.)
Because they arent a jedi, quit pretending they are and start grinding FS so they can look exactly like a padawan, futhrmore you can inform them that the jedi council wont release the crafting schematics and that they should seek out a master jedi tailor like yoda to get "those" robes, dont forget to inform them that he lives on dathomir in the center of the NS POI -nods-
Any concise explanations you may use that people actually 'get' and 'understand' would be appreciated so I can try it. That's not a bad idea...

I'd say I have easily spent more time explaining BE clothing than all the time spent crafting, selling, stocking BE clothing combined, by several orders of magnitude. It's so frustrating that I almost don't do BE clothing at all.
Now that they're broke I just say "all BE clothing is bugged. I can't make anything new right now." and they go away.

Save yourself a major headache and type up an email list of all clothes you CAN place the BE tissues in and tell them those are the ONLY clothing pieces that accomodate the tissues unless they are wookie and ithorian race. I did this and emailed it to myself then I have it in my email to send people minute they start asking for this or that regarding BE items. I send them the appropriate list for BE tissue mod of choice and say if its not on the list do NOT ask me for the item.. "they are more than welcome to check with another tailor but my knowledge shall NOT be challenged" and then just say "understood."
As far as Jedi robes hrmmm haven't had that request yet, guess if I answered it would be to say that they must earn the robes thru the Village system just like everyone else and they cannot be made by tailors. If they still do not get it would probably tell them same as above to go ask another tailor if they wish confirmation *shrugs*
Regarding why we can't make BE clothes atm or an ETA thats same frustration I am getting atm finally you know what I told them to do... go to the tailor boards or the in live SOE boards and post complaints and yell a little to be heard so that developers will know how important your local tailor merchant is to you. That always quiets them down cause for some if had to come to forums to post thats just too much work you know
Regarding 4 sockets can ask any of my customers that request them they are told its NOT an exact science and sometimes takes quite a few tries to achieve... that I can do it but I charge for each make of the item and I do NOT rely on my ability anymore to resell items it took to achieve the one they wanted due to the poor economy situation.. take it or leave it.. matters not either way *shrugs again*
In terms of clothing and armor attachments when this subject comes up I first say to them "anyone is able to drop their own sea's in the clothing it is not a requirement to be a tailor to do so", however I warn them that if the clothing item they are dropping the sea in has the same mod stat on it that it does NOT stack and will always justtake the highest of the two mods placed in same clothing item etc. Nine times out of ten if I forget to mention this someone goes and drops a SEA on a piece of BE clothing then asks me how come it didn't stack... then gets all upset like its my fault I didn't go into detail on another part of the game mechanics
I found that Tailor for as simple of a profession as it is became a nightmare when it came to explaining stuff over and over for the longest time in beginning of this game and now I make it as plain and simple for customer as it can get and if they do NOT like the answer then I refer them along to have it verified.. there is only so much I can do in the game with the given mechanics and the rest is up to developers to fix and answer
*Honestly, I do really care... you can ask any of my customers even long-standing ones but life is too short and as I always say there is no cure for stupidity and ignorance is true bliss why should I continue to try to convince and burst that imaginary bubble of denial some place themselves inside?*

As she said ... I have emails of a few FAQs that my charcters carry .. my Dancer carries a ton as new dancers always have a ton of questions.
Pricing is the only thing I had to split up onto diff emails (one for each category).
I find writing up an email explaining the things you have to explain over and over extremly helpful. BE mods can not be applied to clothing at this time (is a good way to start the email) also include info on the fact that they can apply their own CAs and AAs ... I have people willing to pay me to "craft" these into their clothes *sighs*
... why we can't make BE clothing atm. BE mods can not be applied to clothing at this time. (current BE items are fine ...new items can not be crafted)Tailors are currently waiting on a fix. Refer to patch notes to see when BE mods will again be applied to clothing.
... why we can't put their clothing/armor attachments into the clothing they want so it will become the BE'd clothing. I have no clue what this question means lol
... why we can't get 4 sockets on demand. 4 socket clothing is random ... it can take 2 tries or 20 tries to get a 4 socket item. On a side note I tell people they can have 4 socket item if they will pay for each item it takes to get the 4 socket (min of 5K maximum of 50K)I sell the items that dont turn into 4 sockets with that understanding. I also only do that for very good customers as its time consuming lol.
... why the specific piece of clothing they want that uses synthetic cloth wont' magically become combat BE'd clothing. BE tissues are made by a Bio Eng and then applied to clothing by a Tailor. The application process is broken atm.
... why we can't make them the 'specific' Jedi robes ... so they can lookEXACTLY like a padawan. (been asked this the last week at least4 times ... was even told 2x it's ok if you don't include the Force use with it because I dont think I can use it at this point.) *hugs* I sense some fustration on this one ... the other one I hate is people who ask for matching colors for items from two seperate palattes. Every article of clothing has its own set of colors it can be crafted in. Matching colors or even getting a specific color is sometimes impossible for certain items of clothing. I normally then refer them to a website which shows pallates.
and just remeber ... customers are still customers
Gah I am bored today ...

And when all that fails I use the "I'm a tailor, not a goddess. Although I can see why you would be confused"

With high OQ subcomponents, high OQ main resources, and +25 assembly, I get 4 sockets 99% of the time.

Does anyone have any ready made form letters we can hand out to people who just don't get it? Maybe with a few websites to clothing sites so they can see what goes with what and where? I do most my buisness on the bazaar but there are still those few that....*GRRR*
