Hi there,

I'm a ranger on Lowca and I'm hopingone of youcan answer a question for me. I don't know any tailors myself and thus the reason why I've come here to you good people.

It's about Nabooian scaly hides, incase you hadn't guessed! I've heard that these are sought after by tailors but, knowing little about the profession, don't know how true this is. What I'd like to know is whether Nabooian scaly hides specifically are used in any of your designs? If so, do you find them a problem to get hold of? I'm not particularly worried about whether or not they're hugely valuable(coming from butterflies I couldn't see that being the case!) but I am interested to know whether it's worth my while collecting them when on one of my various treks across the planet, or whether I'd just end up using them to build camps with as I usually do!

Also, if you do use them, what do you use them for? Just out of curiosity!

There are 2 boots, High Quality Boots, and Thermal Boots, which require specific types of hide. One is Nabooian Scaly, the other Tatooian Wooly. I can't remember which boot requires which though.

Ok, thanks for the info. One of the main reason's I asked is because of a post here on the tailor forum my girlfriend was reading where a tailor seemed extremely pleased to have recieved the Nabooian hide in part exchange for clothing. Made me wonder what it was used for and why she was so pleased to have got it!

Still, any more info any of you have is useful. I've just made it into ranger and I've only just started to think about what I should actually be harvesting from creatures to benefit other professions (and make a credit or two myself, of course!). I'd certainly appreciate any information about the sorts of materials (animal harvests) you guys need.

High Quality Boots is Tatt Wooly and the Thermal boots is Nabooian Scaley.

Both Nab Scaly and Tat Wooly are nice to have. On top of that, I'm always in need of Wooly Hide and Bristley Hide. I have lots of leathery, but can't seem to keep enough of those 2. Certain items require Wooly specifically (i.e. metal bikinis), others require bristley (i.e. pilot's jacket). After the Big Patch(tm) next week, any high quality bone/hide/meat is going to be in great demand by BE's, so that would be a good market for you as well.

I live on Naboo, so Nabooian Scaley Hide is about as valuable to me as... um, any other kind of hide of equal quality. I can just step outside and blast a few frogs if I need some.

What I'm trying to say is, all hides have a value dependant heavily on where you're selling them. Nabooian Scaley Hide is most valuable on Talus (because it's a double-jump to Naboo), slightly less valuable on Tatooine and Corellia, and worth no more than any other hides (a lot less than Wooly, actually) on Naboo.

Tatooine Wooly Hide's value is different. It's harder to find (because few critters, primarily Banthas) have it, making it just about as valuable on Tatooine as it would be on Naboo or Rori. However, it's actually less valuable on Corellia or Talus, because they have easily-accessible walking stockpiles of Wooly Hides (Paralopes and Durnis).

The notes for Tatooine Wooly Hide actually go for pretty much all types of Wooly Hide; save up a bulk amount of it (5k+) then take a trip to Naboo or Tatooine and sell it there, you won't be sorry. This is coming not only from a Tailor, but one who plays a Ranger on a different server as well.

(For comparison, the common price I can get for Wooly on Tatooine or Naboo [on Eclipse] is 10 cpu, while I'd be lucky to get 5 cpu for it on Corellia or Talus.)

It hadn't even crossed my mind that value can change to that degree from planet to planet. Just another reason why, despite the flaws, I love this game more and more each day!

You've certainly given me food for thought there, and suddenly I can see there can be a lot more to consider than at first meets the eye.I expected other resources to have different value from planet to planet, it just never occured to me that creature resources were the same.
