I dont think anything sold by the outfit (assuming they are bagged and in the vendor) will sell well - customers like to see what they're buying

I would like to be able to sell by the outfit too. It would be nice if the pack on the vendor could be opened by the customer to view the pieces inside. I was getting alot of request for some of the outfits put together on a certain web page. So I put up a vendor and made these outfits from that site and after the name of the piece I would put the outfit name on all of the pieces. This did not work either because people are buying one piece here and there and breaking up the sets. So it causes more work for me by having to go thru and see what i need to replace. I don't really have an easy anwser to this. Things that might help are to just make a few of your favorite outfits and display them in your shop..maybe even give the outfit a name but leave the original name on them so the customer knows what they are looking at. Reasoning behind this is two-fold...1. when they look for that outfit on your vendr they can search by piece 2. If they contact you for a custom color they can tell you the name of the outfit.

Change your display outfits up often and if something sells well from your vendor that you have displayed maybe just change up the color. I have just put alot of spring type colors on my vendor so I re-did my displays to match. Pinks, lavenders, peaches, mint greens, yellows and preiwinkle. I used pieces like pocketed shorts, short sleeve shirts, pantaloons and pieces that look llike spring summer clothing. Seems to be working

I'm not sure about that. Based on the number of issues with people swiping special order packs it seems that some folks like to play grab bag. I've just started trying to sell outfit packs on my "wierd stuff" vendor, but I just listed them yesterday so I'll post if they start selling decently.

I started with a few packs of outfits all in one color, so folks could buy a couple and mix and match. I will be adding two-color outfits either tonight or tomorrow. For right now, the outfits are very low level clothing, and I'm charging 2500 for them.

I may add some nicer things at more expensive prices per pack later. If I do more high level clothes and charge high for them, I'll be adding both an accessory item and a surprise gift in each one (most likely a wierd but not hard to find decorative item).

I'm going to give it a shot, if it doesn't work, I'll move on to something else. I figure I will keep a couple dozen outfits on display, clearly identified by name (for instance: Desert Commando Rags) and/or number. I will do my best to keep my selection of outfits rotated.

I have been selling bagged outfits for about 3 months now very successfully. Although they are time-consuming to make they invariably move within a few days at standard pricing. Usually I package them in Travel Packs and offer a pack buy-back option, and sometimes the backpack is an advanced type that's part of the outfit.

The trick, I think is to keep the names and descriptions sharp. Two examples:

Holonet Idol (F)(5pcs)

Designs for a mega-star worthy of galactic adulation. A fun, revealing outfit for parties, performances, and formal events, in bright blue with silver highlights. Perfect for dancers!

Set inlcudes:

  1. Low-Cut Top

  2. Immense Gemstone Necklace

  3. Noble's Skirt

  4. Metal Band

  5. Dress Slippers

Desert Hermit (5pcs)

This mysterious stranger is a creature of the wastelands, venturing into town for the occassional mundane need or for business at the local cantina. What troubled past has led to his self-imposed isolation? An earthtone outfit for desert travel.

Set includes:

  1. Cloak

  2. Formal Shirt

  3. Crafter's Pants

  4. Small Pocket Belt

  5. Paneled Boots

You see what I mean by time consuming, though. I did do a factory run of Imperial uniforms that were organized into bags once, and those went very quickly.

Hey there fellow tailors, I'm a new Master Tailor on Starsider. I'm working on stocking my first vendor with outfits. (I'd like to sell by the outfit, rather than the piece, to help out those who are fashion-challenged.) I'm wondering what outfits you guys and gals think arereally sharp, and might sell well for me. Thanks!
