I just made Novice Tailor and Tailoring 1. At what level of the tree do we get to play with the cool colors rather than the drab browns and washed out pastels?

You'll get an increase in colours if you go up the tailoring side of the tree (right hand column) This is where all the extra colours come from.
Prepeare to be dissapointed though,as certain items will STILL use the crappy earthtones palette. (Hurry up and fix double bandoliers WORST PALETTE EVER!)

Correction! I would have to say.. the palette for the long formal jacket is the worst! I can see more people wearing varying shades of leather tones... rather than adozen tints of grey! What the....

Good point and agreed, I'f forgotten just how bad that palette is and the numerous "why can't you do it in black your a a master tailor after all" requests.

hmmm, haven't gotten the long formal jacket schematic yet, i can't believe it would be worse than a palette of several shades of puke pink, not even a pretty pink. Once i saw we had a schematic for double bandolier i thought, "How come i don't see all the uber combat freaks in this?" Then i made my first one when i got it, YIKES, hit that practice button real quick like!

I'll vote for the double bandolier as worst palette heh.
Gray and tan may be boring but orangish pink????
Makes me cringe, especially considering it's on of the few items that wookiees get to choose from (and I'd look damn fine in a nice black one).

The double bando looks great in dark brown! But... the long formal jacket looks wrong as a formal jacket in any tint of grey.

The thing about the formal jacket is that it's what all the imps want. So if you're imp that grey is perfect for you... trust me I know cuz they keep asking for it heh.
