as the tailor community is my preferred one, i would like to post this request in here.
I would like to start playing on TestCenter too, but every time i log on, the galaxy seems to be deserted. Because I would like to do something else than playing Skat (a german card-game, which requires 3 players) with my own alter-egos, I wanted to ask you, who got a TestCenter account and would like to play with me (/giggle self) from time to time over there?
Thanks for your replies,
Ipita

Well, Test Center does have a fairly low population, but there are a few tips to finding people.
First of all, you MUST join the chat channel TCPA. Immediately.
Second, most of the "stuff" happens in player cities. Nobody uses the NPC cities except to shuttle. From when I was there, I would recommend New Unity (outside Theed) as a player city because it seems very "entertainer-ish" so there are usually people in the cantina. However, things are always changing, and I haven't been active on TC in a few months and don't know the current "hot spots". TCPA is a good resource.
Third, nobody uses the bazaar. Most player cities have a communal tent area where you can find what you need. Or you can ask on TCPA. People are generally willing to help a n00bie out with some basic items, so long as you are willing to run missions to pay (asking for handouts is not cool.)
Fourth, go to the off site forums. That is where most of the players go to talk about stuff (since the TC forum is invaded by "OMG I NEED BLU FRoG kThxbye!")
That's how to find people. I think the biggest basic rule of TC is to never ask for a handout. Hundreds of people every month come to TC, wanting free items to test their profession, believing that it is a waste of time for them to earn the items because it takes away from their testing time. While that might be true, if these people were given what they requested, it would be a huge drain on the TC economy, and it would waste the time of the TC regulars to earn the goods for the so-called "tourists." That is why TC regulars are a little wary of "tourists" because many people don't stay. Expect to pay for all your goods, even if it is a small fee, and expect to wait a while before being admitted into a guild, since no guild will want to accept someone that they are not sure is going to be playing on TC 2 weeks from now.
So you're probably wondering why I left TC? A couple of reasons. The first is that the testing of JEdi and then JTL severely gutted the already small Tc population. The second is that my playtime is more limited and constrained, and if I only have 2 hours in an evening to play, I need the server to be up for that time.
I hope this helps
