Ok, i'm not sure this has been brought up before , but here goes.

As this game progresses its has become increasingly hard to find reliable Doctors on that buff people. Since the high end content is unaccessible unless you are buffed, those of us that play on at off-peak hours have a harder time maximizing our playing time unless we are a doc ourselves.

Proposol:

Create a looted component(Or Bioengineer Tissue)which ,when inserted into socket clothing, will yield a modest increase in HAM. I dont know what this number would be yet, but for sake of argument, lets say +250.

Features to preven imbalancing.

1. Only one type of each HAM Stat would be configurable per piece of clothing.

2. The Maximum amount would be capped at 1500 , as these would stack between segments of clothing.

3. The clothes will decay upon death. They would be insurable too. As the clothing decays the value of the buff also would decay, unless repaired. Think of this as being similar to armor decay.

4. The clothing that would be able to be modified would be items that normally would not be able to be worn under.armor.You can wear a piece with armor, but then again you are losing procection of said armor.

Benefits

1. This would allow players an alternative to doc buffs, thereby improving gameplay for most that hate having to waste valuable play time looking for a buff.

2. For people that dont want to use armor, this would allow them to have higher HAM than the armored person in combat. These clothing buffs would also stack with doc buffs.

3. This would be a great addition to the tailors who are looking for a new market that can make decent money for them.

This is just the basic foundation I have came up with. It's not without precedent. Currently im playing another game in beta and there is no armor. As you level up you increase HAM, or special looted clothing can increase it, but decay does come into affect.

I would not see this as a killer to the buff market, because for the most part this option would be viable for the artisan that wants to be able to survive his harvestor runs, or the TKM. Those that really dont need armor.

It isn't a bad Idea but then all those DoTers and CM's would no longer have to be buffed and would last longer after coming back from cloning and throw more poisons and diseases. I like the Idea but I am not sure how it would work.

There is already food out there that boosts HAM, I somehow doubt chefs would be too impressed at tailors suddenly killing some of their sales!

With the combat revamp still going through testing it would be interesting to see what happens to buffs when it is done, you may find its not worth getting buffs all the time (even when you can find a doc) and food will become a good subsitute.

As much as I love making BE clothing I do think the bonuses should be skill related rather than HAM boosts.

I have to agree that BE-Clothing should be skill mods, not increase of HAM. But on the other hand, it could be really useful for those who are short on credits. This is how I approach the whole decay thing: No, it should not be unable to decay, but it could decay slower then other items.

I also think an increase with 1500 HAM is to much, 1000 top. This could be good for new beginners. Then they don't have to waste money on buffs and can easier level up the skills.

not a bad idea, however with combat rebalance due soon im not sure how well this will fit in after they are nerfing buffs of all types. But clothes with small bonuses like +50 strength or +70 mind, or such would be neat imo

great idea, but i wouldn't want it to be stackable with doctor buffs. It would give Jedi and others a break from having to stalk a doctor for some buffs. It would be fun for unbuffed dueling also

I agree that maybe 1500 would be a bit high. 1000 would be a decent number and not be too unbalancing.

To those that are complaing that this may take sales away from chefs and armorsmiths, all i can say is. So What! Chefs and Armorsmiths are two of the richest professions ingame right now , and they have the highest markup on their product.

I have nothing to gain is this type of addition were added to the tailor skills, since I'm not a tailor.

It just seems that tailors really are hard up for a source of renewable income, and for products that people will desire to have.

Sorry, guess I'm one of those strange tailors who gets along with her fellow crafters.

Personally I would rather be known for making something other professions cannot than leeching sales from others. The current range of BE clothing is a good example of that but sadly clothing attachments and the lack of decay do cut into it.

As for saying you have nothing to gain! YOU will. No longer will you have to bother looking for a doc or chef or put your sliced armour on, you'll just slip on your HAM enhanced shirt and away you go. At least at the moment there are multiple professions playing a part in combat preperation, but with your idea you are cutting most of them out and I don't see that helping anyone but YOU! ('You' refering to combatants generally too). Sure it may help tailors short term but we'll all go mad from the constant /tells pretty quickly

But hey, that's just my opinion
