This is my idea to help fix the tailor Profession. Please note i have never been a tailor. Im trying to be constructive as possible.

My first idea is:

To make clothing with 0 condition to either be unequipable and/or Not show the visualforwearing the clothes. To compensate for the non equiping of the clothing or losing skill mods that are dear to The players. Give the tailors the ability to break down the clothing and make it into a new artical of clothing with no sockets. (prevents 5th generation clothing) The ability would have a % to succeed probably 90% at master and 20% at noivce.

My Second idea is:

To give clothing low resistance to some damge types. 5% at max and no armor rating or ham costs. This would help give clothing a more of a useful role in combat for any Player. The clothing would lose its resistances when it hits zero condition. These resistances would give new players and crafters and dancers a bit of an edge.

These to concepts would make tailor a viable profession.

Edit thanks for the spell check i have a real hard time with it.

I'm on Corbantis and I think Tailor is a very rare profession. I've made over 2 million credits for just making clothes in the first few days of Tailoring. Personally as far as fixes and ways to improve the profession the only thing at the moment that i'd really like to see changed is make every item have the complete colors available. It's such a pain to try and make someone an outfit but have the make 4 pairs of something and explain to them that I can't match up the colors the way they like. Please fix this Devs!! If that can't be done then how about giving each player a catalog of sorts. It would show every clothing item available and the color scheme that goes with each item. Alos and more importantly, why not have each color scheme numbered? So people can tell me they want a blue shirt in blue 6 or a red shirt in red 3. It really sucks to have to have the customer stand outside my store in the light and then have them stand still while i test-make clothing while moving the window with the item close to the person to try and match up their custom colors. Just my 2 credits.......

My first idea is:

To make clothing with 0 condition to either be unequipable and/or Not show the visualforwearing the clothes.

On the tailor want list for ages

To compensate for the non equiping of the clothing or losing skill mods that are dear to The players. Give the tailors the ability to break down the clothing and make it into a new artical of clothing with no sockets. (prevents 5th generation clothing) The ability would have a % to succeed probably 90% at master and 20% at noivce.

Personally I do not want to be recombining clothes, let them die. People need to repair and insure items they want to keep, or they should have to replace them.

I would much rather have a broader BE option for more clothing before haveing resistances to clothing.

These to concepts would make tailor a viable profession.

Ouch...Tailoring IS a viable profession....

and at the risk of sounding rude (though realize this is not personal in any form, this is for every single person out there)

I wish that people whohave ideas about fixing or changing a profession would take the time to read the boards they are about to post on.

It's great to have ideas and share them, it's fine to post your opinion,

but get a feel for the people who will read it,

get informed on how they want things to change before you suggest more changes yourself,

and above all..

don't bump, add something new or constructive but don't bump in the profession boards...

I am just talking as a long-time tailor here so don't read in anything that isn't there!

Clothing does need to be unequipable at 0 condition (or 1/1) since the glut of clothing in the market that never goes away has been making tailor harder and harder to make any money from. People are still wearing my clothes from the beginning of the game! The main souce of resistance from people seems to be skill tapes and I can empathize with that. I've been guilty of not insuring things occasionally and would lose a few nice skilltapes myself. I hope that skilltapes are fixed or changed so that this is not a huge problem anymore, but I have always considered this something separate from tailoring. After all, we don't make the skilltapes, we rarely loot the skilltapes and many of us never even see skilltapes! Anyway, we really need to have decayed clothing leave the system in order to have a form of renewable income.

My Second idea is:

I would personally be against giving clothing any sort of resists to damage. New skillmods would be really nice, but blurring the distinction between armor and clothing is kind of dangerous. After all, if we could encroach on the armorsmith profession then armorsmiths would be able to make a case that they should have a few more styles of armor and that they should be fully colorable. We are already competing with ubese shirts, mabari belts (which actually fit), and low encumberance padded boots (which are the only boots with a full palette).

These to concepts would make tailor a viable profession.

Its still viable! I still have around 28 million credits in the bank. It is just more difficult than it used to be to compete. Our competition is often not against other tailors, but against the very clothing we made months and months ago.

I agree with Gyopi, just wan't to add that there should be no compensation for losing skill mods, especially not BE-Clothes since they are very easy to come across, unlike skilltapes. But the skilltapes issue is another question.

We make clothes, not armor. Then I would rather see a larger selection of BIO-Tissues.

These to concepts would make tailor a viable profession.
It's still a viable profession, but what Gyopi said is true. I get like 50 sales each month.

Edit thanks for the spell check i have a real hard time with it.

As a buff pack maker you get around 5 million dollars in sales a day.

As a Combat profession i was clearing close to 2 mill a day.

I just think taylor isnt as lucrative as it should be.

The idea about the clothing recombined is for the skill taped clothing.
