Thread: Skywalker Robe, Baggy Pants, and Capes?

One thing that bothers me is that we cannot make a shirt that looks like the top from Luke Skywalker's outfit from Episode IV. This would be great since that outfit is probably the most iconic of Luke, similar to Han's Vest or his Corellian Striped Pants or Leia's White Gown and Danish muffinhairstyle (which are all included in this game mind you).

Also, this robe/shirt would allow us tailors to make something that ressembles close to Jedi wear. I get so many requests to "make me look like Obi-Wan". The wooly shirt/crafter pants/cloak look just doesnt cut it for alot of people.

Another thing that bugs me is the lack of baggy pants. Everything is skin tight and very modern looking (this is more Star Trek if anything). This look doesnt go with the star wars unique look of the melding of advanced technology and antiquated clothing/culture. A nice example of this look that i am referring to is Obi-Wan in ANH. his look included a robe that looks worn and resembles burlap while his belt that holsters his lightsber has metal and a modern advanced look to it. star wars is the only universe that captures this opposing but appeasing to the eye look.

Capes? Need I say more? Sure everyone would wear one to look like Count Dooku and Vader. But I want to make a cape so that you can dress more like Lando =P

introducing things like capes, baggy pants coupled with the skywalker robe would look awesome for alot of people and increase the star warsy-ness that is lacking in many facets of this game.

in other words, add more clothes...its been TOO LONG since we got additions.

btw - if the Devs make a skkywalker robe, dont make it into a jacket. please make it into a shirt so that people can wear their cloaks over it.

Capes were brought up at Fan Fest as well as other clothes in general. Basically, their response was it would be doubtful to have something like that anytime soon. What it comes down to is that we have an enormous array of clothing as it is and having to run all the graphics checks when people run around with them on is one of the main reasons for lag in this game. Once they can lower lag, then maybe we'll see new clothes and maybe even new species. Don't go holding your breath though.

Sounds more like a scapegoat to me.

You see the particle effects they added in cause more lag than clothing, races or anything else. Basically its just a line to put off people. They could fix the lag a great deal by defragging the system and adding more servers to handle the load ( not new galaxies, more servers, each galaxy has a number of subservers that support it ). By putting it off they are just delaying the inevitable.

But that would mean more hampsters to run the additional servers and that would mean more food and that would mean more hampster by-product which would mean more employees to clean up said by-product...pant pant. SOE won't spend money on us. I mean the hampsters powering the the server now are too tired to handle us...AND YOU WANT MORE! For shame...those poor hampsters!

pffft - no one was rude to you personally.
Please forgive us, all tailors are pretty testy atm as our profession has been severly broken, and we are a bit tired of hearing platitudes from the devs. I cannot speak for others, but new clothing items are the least of my concerns.

as a side note - re: the original post... the "iconic" jedi outfit is sort of funny if you think about it.
Both Luke and Obi-wan were wearing what the average Tatooine citizen was wearing, even Luke's uncle was wearing similar items but he wasn't a jedi. In Episodes 1-3 we see jedi wearing plenty of other outfits, more suited to their personal style; and in episode 6, Luke had changed over to a black outfit, but he was still a jedi.- make the jedi, clothes do not.

I'm trying to do my very best to get a "Dooku" appearance going on. Not having much luck with the ID nor with tailored clothing aspect of this.
