I do wish people would do that so I don't have to make anyone else look "badass" only to be told when i finish making a "badass" outfit it's really really gay =\

Seriously, though, there's nothing inherently wrong with black or even a "blackhole outfit", though it does mystify me as to why the guys who want to look "tough" don't go for a camo-set instead. Maybe I'm alone in this, but I've always been more scared of nutjob wannabe mercenaries in military camos than dark and tormented goth bois.
Besides, if it weren't for all the people who wear the exact same outfit, there'd be no constant from which to base uniqueness off of. If everyone is unique, no one is unique; people who wear the same boring clothes make your clothes look better by comparison whether they mean to or not.
LOL! That was great! And here I was feeling all glum about being a sloooooowly rising up the trees Tailor. Thank you for the chuckle.
Now then, I did finally attain Field Wear 3 and 4. And of course the first things I made were black Spec-Ops and Gunman's Dusters. And pants, boots, shirts, gloves. For a friend of mine. Everything black on black or with gray. But it suits him and his role play. (We won't go there, just trust me) But for the heck of it, I tossed aside my bright greens, golds and blues and frilly girly shy Tailor clothes and made a matching outfit for myself. Dark as night, black as sin. And to kick it, and to tickle my friend's fancy, as I kept Novice Entertainer for this one reason, I changed my hair color and makeup to all black too.
I was transformed. Character-wise. My attitude matched my outfit. I was.... rather sassier than usual.
For one night.
It was fun. But I wouldn't want to live in black.
I ache to take aside one of those Krayt-butt-kickin' warriors and slap him upside the head with a color wand. *poof!* Tailor glitter. You've been colorized!
No macros for me. I grind by hand. Ha ha ha. But only in small doses. Who has time to grind? I have cloning centers to visit! Make money selling five black outfits? What for? I can do Artisan missions from Moenia to Dee'ja Peak or Mos Eisley to Anchorhead for one day and have 100k and never use a single unit of polymer or steel. Or have one person /tell...
So and So tells you: I want something Cool and in Black.
Honestly, I am considering renaming my shop to "Cool and in Black."

OMFG. I was so sure that I was going to get chewed out for this. It never occurred to me that I'd get 5 stars and a plug from the Tailor Correspondent. I guess I'm not the only one who felt a need to vent, or at least I'm venting about things that bother other tailors. Wow. I don't know what to say.
Except for two things. Well three, but one's short - can you tell that rampant teenage vicious homophobia, especially the use of "gay" as an insult really, really ticks me off? I have far too many gay and bisexual friends to not get steamed over this, every time I hear or see it. And there's nothing like being a crafter in an MMPORG to guarantee that you see it a dozen times a day.
Here are the other two things I need (or at least want) to say:
I'm actuallythinking of revising it slightly, and submitting it to the Guides section at swg.allakhazam.com. There are a couple of typos that need to be fixed, first. But it also occurred to me after I submitted it to this forum that I left out two chunks of text, because it's not quite everything an uber-leet tailor needs to know.
After Step One, paragraph three, add the following:
If that's too much work for you, or if your parents won't let you leave the computer running while you're at school, just use a money duplicating exploit to buy the 15,000 metal you'll need. Or buy whatever is available, and use a resource duplicating exploit to pad it out to 15,000. Come on, why not? All those people with harvesters all over the landscape are a bunch of losers. You know that all the real winners are exploiting, why let them take advantage of you? It's not like it's illegal. If SOE wanted to stop you, they'd buy a subscription to the uber-leet exploit sites, like you do. Since they don't fix the bugs, it's obviously OK to exploit. Exploiters are winners, just like you.
After Step Three, paragraph one, add the following:
Dusters require factory-made components. So use your non-gay other profession, or a money-duplicating exploit, to get the money tobuy a Wearables Factory from an architect. When you find out that he charges more than 3 credits per resouce for it, call him gay, too, on the way out. You're also going to have to buy, and/or resouce duplicate, some power for your factory.
Once you get the factory set up somewhere, use it to make some crates of Reinforced Fiber Panels and a lot of crates of Synthetic Cloth. If you get time to get ahead on it, make a couple of crates of Metal Fasteners and Fiberplast Panels, so you can restock the Bazaar with leet clothes without taking so much time off from blowing people and things up. Maybe do the same thing with Cargo Pockets, too, so you can make your Bounty Hunter packs more quickly.
The other day, Holocron posted a message in the Developer Forum with partial stats on which professions were the most common, and least common. He also posted which ones were most commonly mastered, versus least commonly mastered.
This kicked off a mini-debate over whether or not it was a good thing that people pick-and-choose their skill boxes, instead of going all the way to Master in two or three professions. But whether you like it or not, there are going to be people who want a few boxes of Tailoring but don't have the slightest interest in selling formal wear, casual wear, or master wear.
In fact, the ongoing debate over whether or not tailors should sell schematics to armorsmiths creates more such people. A fair number of the "how do I grind most efficiently" messages are coming from armorsmiths who are feeling jacked over synthetic cloth and reinforced fiber panels. I don't think it's the price they mind, it's the sheer inconvenience of having to go find another tailor every day or so to buy more crates. (Given what armorsmiths get paid, I sincerely hope it's not about the money.)
Having ground their way up to Field Wear III, and then having been given the (temporary) incentive to grind their way up to Tailoring IV so they can use more colors on Padded Armor, they then do so - and then some of them go on to supplement their income by competing with tailors on the five items that make up almost half of our income.
If that's not the intended effect, then maybe more tailors should consider selling component schematics.

Thank god someone else in this game knows what Garanimals are....I have referred to my color matching system several times as such only to get confused looks from clients, hehe.
