Thread: Arthur's attempt at bio-clothing prices

Ok, here's my first attempt at making some sanity in the bio-enhanced clothing prices. The following prices are what I think I will charge retail, to customers, as a BE/Tailor. For tailors wishing to purchase BE tissues from me, the cost would probably be:

1k

1) Bleed Defense: 2k (add 1k for each additional cloth required)

2) Entertainer Wound Healing: 3k (add 1k for each additional cloth required) "myoflex"

the higher heal version using "advanced myoflex" would be special order only since it requires egg.

3) Visual Cammo: 3k (add 1k for each additional cloth required)

4) Mask Scent: 3k (add 1k for each additional cloth required) "scent cammo"

4k (add 1.5k for each additional cloth required) "scent neutralization"

5) Medical Wound healing: 3k (add 1k for each additional cloth required) "passive bio sensors"

4k (add 1.5k for each additional cloth required) "active bio sensors"

ugh!!! It must be time to go home, cause this keyboard just aint cooperating with me, lol, anyhow, the top of the post should read:

1k for bleed defense

1.5k for myoflex, visual cammo, scent cammo, passive bio sensors, toughened fibers,

3k for scent neutralization, active biosensors

Still not taking into account bonuses though.... seems like +9 should cost more than +5, yeh?

PS: Sorry to invade the tailor forum, but nobody who posts the BE forum is on the TC.

500 per bonus is what I finally settled on when I went thru all my cost analysis with more sheets as well Rand - it's really a very reasonable charge, given the final product.

That about falls in line with my plannedpricingtoo. Although a higher chargemay be neededfor the tissues needing rarer ingrediants. So a high and low charge.

Hmm. I have a much easier solution. I use the simple calculation of 500 credits per +1 ability. That's what I charge as a tailor and BE (regardless of the fact they don't work right now)

Perhaps that is a good price for BE to sell them for, in which case I should double my prices... or that could be a final price to the wearer. And the BE would charge half that to a tailor.

Oh no doubt, that is very true, but I've decided it's too much hassle to go into that much complication. When I create a crate of tissues I'll make it based on my "best achievable bonus" take-it-or-leave-it. And to be honest since my skill is going to be a constant for a while (next step is master and that's quite a ways off, if ever, lol), the bonuses I get are probably not going to vary all that much, so this is cleaner and simpler. Also, there is not much price pressure even on regular clothing in my server/city, and I figure there will be even less for these bio-enhanced clothing pieces (since it'smuch more of a specialty), so it's really doubtful I'll lose on a sale because my "per plus bonus" isn't quite as good as another tailor on a particular piece of clothing. I'd be shocked if that even happens.

I've decided to make a spreadsheet of every clothing item we can make, which bonuses I can apply to it, and what my price will be for each item with/without those bonuses taking into account how many BE enhanced tissues it will take for that item. I'm doing this so when a customer asks "how much?" I don't have to break out a calculator and come back 15min later with the answer, lol.

I'm not sure if it is of any value to anyone but me, since our prices are all different (and my base prices are very high, as I use a modified version of Nivia's priceguide), but I'd be happy to share it with anyone who asks nicely, lol. I'll have it done in a day or two, sooner if SWG continues to be down, lol.

500 per point seems a lot... Imagine a bodysuit that requires 4 +25 tissues... Ugh.

I was thinking of 200 or so. What does everyone think? Of course it's assuming I will produce the tissues myself (which I am working on).

Well, as I consider the massive effort it took to arrive at Master Tailor, and for my partner to do the bio thing, and that clothes are indestructible, there must be some fair compensation for statistic enhancing clothing. A disposable gun goes for considerably more than we are contemplating selling perma-clothes for. Just my two bits worth...

As long as my costs on the tissues are low enough to support it, I'll probably price mine around 500cred per +, and more if I have to pay more for the tissues, up to a +25 cap (since they don't currently seem to be effective past that point.

There will be some adjustments made, based off the base cost of the item, how many pieces it needs to be made, etc... but I think that's a good guideline.

I started selling bio-engineered clothes yesterday. I decided to try the 500cr per +1 stat. So far things are selling pretty well. I've sold about 6 items. Ranging in total price from 4800-11500.

I've been doing things like shirts, bandoliers, wookiee shoulder pads, etc...nothing yet with factory crates.

It is fun making these clothes...breaks up the monotony of the usual making plain clothes. Fun to try new things.

I'm not a bio-engineer myself so I've had to buy my tissues. I bought 10 identical +16 bleed defense tissues and 10 identical +4 melee defense/+18 defense vs. stun tissues for 75k credits...The master BE I talked to said he charges about 4k per tissue. He asked if I thought that was too cheap. I told him I wasn't sure, because I don't know how things will sell yet.

Do stats stack with each piece of clothing? And can you combine stats into one piece of clothing?
