ok this may sound odd considering I've been a Tailor on and off for months.. But I never really got into the looted Clothing stuff.. I resently got ahold of a loot design for apron.. Made a nice Med crafting apron for my Doc alt...

Anyways my question about the aprons is can I control which type of apron I make? Can I make a chef mod apron off the same loot design or will the other two turn out med crafting as well?

You'll need to learn a different schematic for the other aprons, they are random. So, all the uses on the one you have will be for the medic stats. You will be able to get a rough idea of what ststs the apron will have from the descriptions for resource requirement slots. I beleive the chef one takes a food/chem crafting tool and the slot is titled "cooking utensils"

I don't know which belt you mean but it should be possible. I tried with my tailors apron and two belts (suit and grenadier) and it worked just fine. Looked silly of course, but that's old news.

doesnt the appron only take up the coat slot?

I have an additional question to add to this. Can an apron be worn with a belt? My guild recently aquired a belt with +17 to med experimentation, and I want to know if my doc can wear that with our Medic's Apron (to gain the +2 exp points).

I have a question as well I just made my first Apron's and I couldn't answer my guildmate's question...

Can you use the tool that goes into the apron?

If so, how?

There is no 'tool' in the apron. It's just a component that is required to make the apron.

I've got a related question. Can you open another crafter's apron when you still have an active one?

ie: I have 2 uses left on a architect's apron and I open another one and one of 2 things can happen. I get another Architect apron so now I have 5 uses or it's another type and I now have the choise in my crafting tools.

I'm leaning towards no since on the crafting tool list it's only called a Crafter's Apron and only upon close inspection do you find out what kind.

If you try to learn a new schematic that is of the same type as one you already have learned and/or partially used, you will get a message saying you alreadyhave that schematic. You cannot learn a new schematic of one you already have learned. If the schematic is of a different type than any you have learned, then it will let you learn it and adds it to your datapad schematics. You can have "learned" one of each type of apron: Tailor, Architect, Medical, Chef.

Whenever I use up the last use of a quest schematic, I have to "test learn" every schematic in my collection until I find one that will "let" me learn it. Thereby replacing the one I just used up.

I have a small house filled with packs filled with quest schems. It can take quite a while to pickup, click learn, get the "you already know this schematic" message, and go on to the next one. Tailor, Tailor, Tailor, Tailor.... *grumbles* Where is the Med apron schem? Surely one of these is a med apron... *sigh*
