I got a crafters apron schematic from doing a mission in the Jabba themepark....It requires a Master Tailor to make it....what kind of experimentation bonuses does something like this get? Can it be specialized in the crafting process, Im a Droid Engineer, can it be made to have Droid Experimentation? Or is it a "generic" crafting apron that gives a bonus to any kind of crafting. Any light you can shed on this is appreciated.

It is random, sometimes it is medicine crafting, sometimes it is for structure, sometimes for food, there might be others, i cannot remeber. It's +5 to experimentation which is wothless without the other +5 for the extra experimentation point. It also has an assembly bonus however i have never seen any differance. On another note, there is a belt schematic that you can get for driod eng. cannot remeber what quest it was a reward for, however it was random as well sometimes it was a demolitionist belt which was for commandos.

Quick answer - there are one of four pre-designated crafting aprons: medical, chef, tailor, or architect. Only way to know which one it is is to have a tailor learn it, but there is no way to change it into any other kind. A tailor can only "learn" it it they haven't already learned the same kind. Each one is limited to 3 uses and then it poofs from the tailors schematic list, though it can be relearned with a new scroll of the same kind. There are 6 other special schematics. Two are backpacks: one with enhancements geared toward rifleman, and one geared toward rangers. One item is an enhanced leotard with enhancements for a dancer and wearable only by females. One is the demolitionist belt which has some useless grenade crafting enhancements and also a thrown weapon bonus which is for commandos. The last two are bandoliers (called toolkits on the schematic), but are indentified on the scroll. One is for weaponsmiths and the other is for droid engineers. Offhand I think both have bonus to experimentation and assembly. For more detailed info on stats check the FAQ.
