i didn't mess with tailoring because of the limited color patern, i heard that you get more colors (you know, ones people WANT.. blue, yellow, red, ect) at master and stuff, but now i just read on the main forum that thats not the case, there are no more colors than what you get at default! is this true? if so then thats really really lame, i wanted some maroon pants

You get more colors as you invest in the Tailoring discipline.

Maroon is one of the colors you get as a Novice Tailor by the way.

Maroon is easy and unless you want a really dark lemon, the yellow line isn't too terrible. I do a lot of dancer things in yellow.

Another thing about the yellow - keep in mind that while it's a color that tends to look not-so-good on pale-skinned human types, it often looks *great* on people with different skin colorations. Like a lot of the Twi'lek colorings, for example.

can I ask a question about colors? I'm just an artisan but asked in that board and got no response, so shooting it here if you don't mind.

Is there a way to change the main color of something when you're creating it? Like, on a robe I see a 'Color 1' with all the colors, but when I change the color only the belt or the sash changes, not the main fabric (the actual robe). I guessed there is a 'Color 2' that controls that, but couldn't find a way to change it. What do I have to do to change that?

You can change secondary colors at Novice Tailor.

Some of the artisan designs are backwards at present, insofar as you can change the secondary color but not the primary. /Bug them.

It's a shame, some of the early designs are actually really nice, but most people don't want them because they're "newb" even when we get the advanced colors. No reason in my mind that a wrap skirt is any worse looking than a pleated or modest.

I know what you mean, but to be honest I don't go too far out of my way to show off my Domestic Arts styles. I'd rather get theTailoring xp. Obviously I make the DA things if people request them, if a customer specifically requests "cheap" clothes, or if they're the only style I have that really fits what the customer is looking for.But I'm progressing pretty slowly because I refuse to sit and grind, so my xp comes from my sales. So I mostly try and push Tailor level clothing.

I almost sold a soft undershirt last night. The customer wanted something line a flex-form shirt but with sleeves... She liked it but wanted the flex-form pattern.

So don't give in on the artisan clothing. It's got some good fits with the higher clothing.
