Anyone know how to practice? The devs bopped factory exp back to 10% in all cases. So i'm looking for that extra 5% while I finish off master.

I decided to test it out a few minutes ago myself and nowhere in the crafting process am I given the "practice" option. I thought perhaps it was just because I am on Kauri... Has anyone gotten practice to work yet?

Reading another thread, i see where there is supposed to be a box at the last step you click to "practice".

Of course this make the practice useless to the grinder which is what this option was included for. We were crafting so many items, and deleteing them that the database was puking it's guts out (GO GO ORACLE!! I can see why peoplesoft doesn't want to be bought by you). A real grinder isn't going to stop and click practice. He's going to hit enter until the inventory screen reappears and start his second item. The pure speed of making the item will overwhelm the 5% bonus per item.

No, as an evil grinder, I will say that clicking an extra box during the process would be far, far better than having to go through and delete items.

Practice is a huge boon for grinders everywhere. 5% exp bonus AND no delete? ::cheer::

You guys that dont know how to practive should restart your comps. I did this and it brought up the practice button on the customization screen. The thing is, when you craft you press it but for all other items of that type it will automatically mark them as practice items. you do not, and i repeat... YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CLICK PRACTICE EVERYTIME YOU CRAFT. This is infact a lot better for grinding cause now you dont have to delete items and it is just one extra click on the first item you craft.

Seriously. It's one click and then 5% extra XP for all the grinders! How dare anyone complain?

I've heard differently, Leeper.

It's my understanding that the "practice" option is actually a checkbox that stays on when you're crafting. It's apparently at the last stage of crafting (probably at the colour/naming screen).

So, check for a litte checkbox. And it actually makes grinding more useful, since it stays on. (Don't forget to turn off when you're filling someone's order!)

Considering what Creating/deleting did to poor Starsider's back-end DB, I can see why they put it there. I was like 4K away from my next tailoring skill yesterday, and practice made that A LOT nicer. The practice checkbox remembers it's state (Just remember to turn it off when you make normal items ) so you don't have to keep clicking. And although the 5% XP boost is justa behavioural modificaton tecnique to gaurentee that we'll use it instead of just blowing it off (they REALLY don't want us creating/deleting, poor DB...) I'm not going to complain. Heck if I had to click it every time it might be worth it (I don't grind often, UXP is more fun. Let's ya chill with the peps in the cantina) But all in all, I give props to the SOE devs for the quick, and advantegous fix to their DB GC shortcoming problem.
