Who else thinks that they could be a tad higher?

I mean I just made an Elegant Gown which requires 25 hide, 1 trim, 1 jewelry setting, 15 metal and 4 identical synthetic cloth. The result of it was 70 TXP.

Ok you might argue that you get the TXP from all components you'd need to craft, but you have also to go with the case that you might have gotten them from another tailor, thus you're lacking these TXP. Plus the synth cloth must be factory made. Factories give also only XP within a certain range, so you'll be forced to stay within that range to snatch the XP for that.

Considering some of these factors, 70 TXP seems a bit thin. Also regarding that the next step is 70k TXP.

TripleDES,

It's really sad, but exp per resource, Ribbed shirts are the fastest way to go. Some of the level 4 field wear give you almost 300 per item, and they're very close in cost.

I've got level 4 fashion, and the products I make require 2-4 factory cloth, a jewelry setting, 2-4 factory trim, and possibly metal fastners, plus Fiberplast or Poly... The MOST I've seen the finished product give me is 90 TXP. Good thing patterned slip dresses sell for a bit more than I've been able to get before, and Luxurious gowns can pull down 2500 credits easy... Still, it is alot of resources dumped into making all of those components.

Syma, a Master Tailor on Starsider will actually buy the fashion crap that I choose to make, because he's to busy doing custom orders to keep his vendors full. It's not a bad little gig... I could make equal money running delivery missions, but this allows me to work on Tailor XP and get my products distributed on a wider scale for the UXP. To bad I have to make so many gloves and boots... The general crafting XP isn't good for much of anything once you've mastered Artisan.

Yeah, it shouldn't be pure resource based exp. Tailor level should previde a multiplier on the exp.

2 per for novice and tier 1
3 per for Tier II and III
4 per for Tier IV and master

That would reflect the complexity of the clothes in each level.

Tailoring xp should be 2xp per resource at Novice and gradually go up to 3xp as you go up the skill tree. This change was supposedly implemented in beta. Since the gown uses 40 raw material then the xp should be over 80 since it's higher up the tree. Looks like this may be a bug, I would report it.

Well,I do know that the ribbed shirt, which required 60 resources, gives out 140 TXP. So it seems at Novice Tailor the multiplier is 2.3 at least.

I find it rather odd that they fear tailors advancing too fast and restrict the amount of exp we gain. I am at fieldwear 3 and have yet to make an item that gives more than the ribbed shirt. I made a pair of reinforced pants last night. They require 2 factory fasteners, 2 factory cloth and a reinforced panel plus other resources. This gave me a whopping 100 exp. I could have cranked out 2-3 shirts in the time it took me to get all the stuff from my inv/crates into the tool and then craft them. Are they afraid that if we master tailoring too soon, people will look too good or something? It's not like what we make actually affects the abilities of the other players unless we add bio components to our clothes, and we can do that fairly low on the tree.

My sales have started to slow down now and I usually only get some custom orders from people I have sold other stuff to or were waiting for me to be able to make something new like the dusters etc. My harvestors still cost me the same, eat just as much power etc but what I make is all similar to what I had before. Heck, I didn't really gain any more colors. Still the same old drap pastels. What is the deal with that? I would have thot the primary colors would come before subtle shades of them. Perhaps some day I will train in tailor line to get more colors, but not until I get the items my customers are wanting to buy.

I also am not real happy with the way I see vendors working. I made master artisan and finally decided to see how a vendor would work. I placed one in my house, checked the maintenance rate and was pleased to see it was only 1. I then decided to put some stuff I was making on it instead of running to town and to see if having a shop was really any good. I checked back later to find that my rate was now 21. I assume this is per hour like other maintenance rates, and I find that totally rediculous. I had to get business 4 to place this fancy bartender droid, make the items I place on it, and then pay an outrageous fee to maintain him, when I could just run to town and pay 20 credits for 6 days on it and have people find it much easier. Am not sure it the rate is based on value of items on it or on the number, since I had placed a few dusters on it for people from my guild to come by and get or look at and had them priced around 3k. I think I will just stick to the bazaar at this rate, or I will go broke before anyone knows where my place is.
