Thread: What do I do with all my excess inventory....?

My house has half a dozen backpacks full of clothing, and now tells me 'your house has too many objects in it.' I am maxed out at the bazaar. I sell an average of a dozen articles a day -- barely enough to pay for my harvesters at going prices, but still brisk enough. I frequently resort to giving things away, like travel packs to newbies and jewelry to dancers in the cantina.

But my daily grinding sessions that I force myself through (so I can eventually have the fun of creating truly unique apparel) produce an order of magnitude more items than I can sell or store. And I'm not talking about nine thousand identical ribbed shirts, but jackets, pants, slacks, jewelry, and belts of every color combination possible.

What do I do with it all? Am I to be reduced to destroying the vast bulk of my own work, and sell just enough to subsidize my hobby so I can keep working upwards? If that's the case, then to hell with tailoring, because it just quit being fun -- full stop. I won't do all that work, put in all that thought, go through the elaborate ritual of planting/powering/paying for/emptying the harvesters, sit there for an hour or more making small runs of good-looking clothes, and then chuck the results into the virtual wastebasket. I won't.

What do YOU do?

Honestly I don't have to much excess. What I do have as excess gets thrown on my vendor and half the time gets bought up by a passing person.

I don't keep that much stuff around. I have a few display pieces around my vendor, but other than that I dont' keep much "stock" on hand. Well I keep a "dangerous" outfit ... black pants, black coat... you know the drill.. But everything else is either on the bazaar or on my vendor.

I freely admit to grinding a fair amount, maybe a 30 ribbed shirts at a time... usually while I'm waiting on someone, but I just destroy those. I make more than enough money from bazaar sales and my vendor to pay for and power all my harvester and my shop.

You're right, thought and effort clothes I hate to destroy... I usually only do this when they've sat on the bazaar and didn't sell or I have new inventory I want to test out.

please try not to give away travel packs...they are one of my best selling items. If you give away travel packs to newbies you really hurt the market for artisans that are trying to get into tailoring.

Destroy them if they are junk and you can't sell them. If you make junk, nobody will buy it. Unfortunately, the way of the world is that people generally don't want to buy ribbed shirts. There are people out there looking for cheap clothes though, gotta hustle. As a 'noob' tailor I sold ALL my clothes by shouting in cities, hardly anything on bazaars, and the people I outfitted for 750 creds in my crappiest clothes are now the customers spending 50k a week in my store.

God, please don't give things away. People are trying to earn a living!

I manage to sell everything. It just takes persistance and watching the market. And I don't mean to be mean about this, but honestly, if you can't have fun with basics, I don't think you're going to find that there's a pot of gold at the end of that rainbow you're chasing. I can create unique and interesting outfits with nothing more than novice tailor.

Once you get to fieldware 1, get a factory and do synthcloth. It's quite easy to sell and you get factory experience.
