Thread: Seeking professional help
Main materials to keep handy are
fiberplast (largest quantity of use)
polymers (2nd largest use)
metal
hides (some call for woolly hides specificly)
Tools are a generic crafting kit and a clothing/food crafting kit
Armorsmiths will use fiberplast panels (Bone armor)with are in the artisan skill list, and synth cloth whichis innovice tailor.Butto make particular armor piecesusing synth cloth, like Mabari chestplates, you have to have harvesters and a factory, since they need crates of synth cloth. Dealing with harvesters and factories can be a full time job, depending on how many you have.

If you're powercrafting for XP (which you shouldn't; it's wicked boring), you'll likely want tonnes of fiberplast and metal.
Personally, I rarely run out of polymers. Generally speaking, I run my harvester on a four day cycle: 3 fibre, 1 poly, then repeat. I'm burning through metal and fibreplast daily.
Also, you'll need steel and crystalline gemstones if you plan on making jewellery.
Firstly, I never thought I would find myself to this forum, but here I am
Anywhoo, I've had this game for about 1.5 weeks now and am pretty happy with it. I created my Wookie character gave him a 2handed weapon and a rifle and went out to make a living splitting skulls for the Rebellion. While, killing stuff is great fun I found myself influenced into taking up a bit more of a refined profession to give my character a little more to offer not only himself, but some of my friends. So, I decided on a tailor since I have a friend who is an armorsmith and I hear they need each other sort of.
I haven't quite made it to the Novice Tailor skill, I believe I'm still 1/2 way through the second domestic skill in Artisan, but I like to plan ahead. I was wondering if you all could help me get started on the road to Tailor.
I understand crafting and gathering resources, but what do I need exactly for my gathering? Like, what surveying tools can I purchase now (or make I guess) that will help me once I hit Novice Tailor? I have the Scout profession as well so bones and hides are in abundance, but I'm confused on what I should be purchasing to make the move into tailoring a bit easier for me.
This is really going to be a side project until I master my other professionas I do like being the hired gun and tank for my mission groups, but it's something I'm interested in and would eventually like to open up a shop in hopes of an extra income flow later in life. Being a Brawler seems to mean being broke half the time since I like to tip alot to get the best possible service from medics and entertainers after long trips.
Since it's secondary, does maintaining a bunch of harvestors (eventually) make sense for my characters life style? Or are resources pretty easy to gather on my own? I know I need a factory for the higher end clothing, but that's definitely way off in the future. Do I choose just one product for the factory to produce or can I switch it when I want to? Do you find tailoring to be casual training friendly? I read theres some grinding times which is fine, since I spend a goodly amount of times in camps out in the field or waiting around for people to come retrieve their corpses.
Well, what ever advice you all could muster up for me would be great and I thank you in advance ![]()
