You might also want to try a piece or two of armor (for a little protection) likesome chitin gloves & boots then wear some nice hats, shirts, jackets, pants.....

Sorry, I should have indicated my profession. I'm currently a Pistol Specialist and am close to Master Scout, with plans to move up the Ranger trees until I become so frustrated I shoot myself.

Sorry, I am going to sound like a noob here, but I haven't really looked into this as much as I should. I really want to get rid of my armor. Why? Because I don't want to look like a clone. I want to have one or more neat outfits that fit my mood, but the armor I have (Chitin) offers some good protection against creature melee.

Is there any alternative to this damage mitigation that I am getting from armor? Will slotted chothing be able to handle this, and if so, is anyone doing this now? Please let me throw this armor away and get some clothing that I like.

Not much in the way of damage prevention, but there is a lot in the way of stat buffage.. for example, I can make clothing that adds to concealment, intimidation, warcry, bleeding resistance, medical skills.. list goes on.

Well, for example, I could make you pants with + to concealment.. useful to scouts and rangers I would think..
