I usually sell my extra fiberplast at a low price. I don't need it (because it keeps on coming in everyday) and I still make profit from it.

I have one harvester for fiberplast, one for polymers. I tend to go through the fiberplast at a fair clip, but I always have a big surplus of polymer, and sell it at 3 credits per unit on the bazaar pretty easily. One thing that's a bit of a help for that is that there happens to be no good source of polymers really close to my town, so it's not super-convenient for people to survey....

But, yeah, even in a worst-case scenario where nobody's buying *anything*, a tailor should be able to at least make ends meet through sales of surplus resources.

I run a busy shop and can sell Spec-Ops with 4 sockets for about 3-4k and Gunman with 4 sockets for about 7-9k

I sell kits of Paramilitary Camos/Gunman Dusters/Ribbed Shirt for about 10k

I pull about 200-300k cash a day through my vendor and custom orders. I spend about 150k on resources every 3 days from a dealer.

I'm almost to 1 mill, it just takes "Brand Loyalty". Get people hooked on your stuff with discounts and freebies and they'll bring their friends to make up for the losses.

Only thing is the clothes dont wear out so you have to try to change up the color so they'll come back.

All fine and dandy for you, but what's a NOVICE tailor supposed to do? We can make "Pants" and "Shirt" and "Robe" and no, sorry can't make dusters, or bustiers, or camo, or hot pants, or bounty packs, or gowns, or really anything you want, but hey I can make "Gloves"!

On a REALLY good day I can make about 9k maybe, 5k of which gets dumped back into my harvesters. It's really really hard to get "Brand Loyalty" when you can't make anything people want to wear. What are us little fish supposed to do?

Kylania,

You're apparentlysupposed to get hired by the big fish, who no longer have time to make a simple pair of gloves as they're busy filling orders for Fleshwraps, Metal Bikini's, and Robes of Honor. :-) Try to find someone to hang around who will sell your stuff. It's a good way to at least get the usage EXP outthere to collect.

All in all, it's not a bad deal, even if you're not making what the market value is per piece.

Another option is to try and find an untapped market. I went to Wayfar last night, and they were desperate for anything, even level 1 and 2 items. Apparently they're all guns and armor down there. No fashion. I made 16k selling products to order in 45 minutes in the cantina.

Dusters and cloaks at 3000 bring in the money fairly quickly, but they're a little far up the tree.

If you have lots of spare fiberplast and chemicals, definitely consider purchasing a factory! Armorsmiths are always in need of synthetic cloth and reinforced fiber panels. Crates of 25 can easily be sold for 4000-5000 on most servers. On top of that, you recieve experience for the cloth and panels if you're near the factory.

The only caveat I'd make there is that at this point in time, I think hardly anybody's really buying Synthetic Cloth, so I wouldn't look at that as a reliable path to riches. I've had a factory for about a week now, and have yet to sell a single crate to armorsmiths, and only got a few nibbles of the "Yeah, I suppose I could use a crate or two in reserve, maybe I'll buy one someday" variety.

I'm hoping the market for Reinforced Fiber Panels is a bit more robust....

Another tip: Listen to inspirational Industrial Musicals from the 1960s and 70s!!!!!

Check this classic advice to tailors out, from the 1962 classic "Penney Proud":

Don't buy too much but buy enough -
And when you buy it, sell the stuff -
Watch the stock and cut expense -
And always use your common sense.

The buyers told you what was new -
And so you ordered quite a few -
Your total sales were only 2?
Don't blame the buyers, it was you.

Profit. There goes the profit.
And all the profit planning in the world won't bring it back to light.
No comp. You're getting no comp.
So if that merchandise is still on hand then you'll stay up tonight!
