I have recently reached Novice Tailor and I find it very slow and painfull getting Experience. I also find it hard selling things as people always want the clothing from master tailors. Do any of you have any tips? I'd really like to get Master Tailor, I only have Novice Tailor currently, but I make little if any profit on the items I've got on my vendor.

I will possibly do a uniform for my PA. that should boost the experience a bit. and when I get better skills, I make better uniforms

Any tips you could give me would be greatly recieved. I play on the Eclipse Server in Naboo 70% of the time.

I am novice tailor myself since 2 days.

I am grinding xp by practicing jewelery. I have a steel harvester and am sampling gemstones on a rich spot in the middle of Mos Eisley. So that is the cheapest way for me to raise my skill.

For money. Well, I can't afford a vendor (or a house for that matter) yet. SoI try to have alwaysaround 20 items for sale in the bazaar.

And I have my title "novice tailor" enabled, so thatI get a couple of tells per day. Sometimes it is a small order like a black shirt, sometimes bigger like yesterday, when someone ordered 50 synthetic cloth.

Well, and I spend a good time with doing quests from the artisan terminal, where you have to look for resources.

If you feel the need to grind, practice on Ribbed Shirts. They give around 130xp per practice and only use 2 types of resources: FiberPlast and Metal.
Also, if you have to make a long trip on foot, do some grinding while walking. Just be sure to leave your radar visible so you can see any approaching nasties.

With the Practice box checked, Ribbed Shirts are 147xp apiece. However, until you get jump-started in the business or unless you run missions, grinding may be too expensive.

One thing to remember about starting in Tailor - you are not only selling clothes, you are selling yourself the experience of buying clothes! Get out there and role-play with the people. Find entertainers that are just starting out and give them a bit of a discount. Word-of-mouth is the best advertisement you will *ever* get.

Also, pay attention to colors - not just the clothing colors, but your customer's coloration as well. That may seem self-evident, but I've seen some pretty hideous combinations out there. A low-level Tailor with a good eye for color, even with their limited paletes, is far, *far* more effective than someone who ground to Master but can't color-match to save their skin.

err... correction: you are selling yourself AND the experience... (stupid lack of edit button...)
