Thread: I have to be a Master Tailor to customize nice colors??
I was just wondering. I'm a 1/0/0/4 Tailor, I just got my Tailoring IV skill last night. And I have a small question.
Do I have to be a Master Tailor to make bright nice colors when I customize my clothes? I was hoping I could make normal shirts with the skills I have and make almost every single color of the rainbow thanks to Tailoring IV! But I can't... from Tailoring III to Tailoring IV it seems to have only added a couple more bleak and dead-like colors like beige or dark/muddy green.
Has my business idea gone down the drain until I master Tailor? Or am I doing something wrong?
This is the problem I'm finding now that I'm re-mastering tailor on TC. The only colors that I like of the ones I have are green, navy, hotpink, and various shades of dull muted colors. My advice, if you're not happy with the colors, is to go for field wear, which looks just fine in lousy colors, and sell mostly that until you hit master.
But, seriously, black and white sell. It may be hard to grit your teeth and make black and white over and over, but black and white both sell.
The only bright color I can say I stock alot of items in with is red. It's spring now and I am stockign alot of spring type colors in addition to the normal black, whites and earth tones. People are goggling them up. Once you get a few people wearing something others pick up on it and do the same. I think as tailors we have the ability to really determine what people look like in SWG. If we supply them all with black..they are all gonna wear black.
It depends.
I was in the same boat thinking I have to be a master tailor in order to be a good tailor. But now that I'm master I see that the only colors I get are your more bright and lively ones - which are good for someoutfits but not all.
For instance... Most all my tops are the bright master colors... Most all my pants are the darker ---4 colors. I really can not stand that bright red on pants. It's really loud and ugly to me. The darker more cranberry red, nice, which you have. Also, some of them darker blues are nice as pants too since there more like denim.
Just depends on what your selling. You want more fun and whacky clothes you need master. You want more quiet and suttle clothes your fine. And your best bet would be Field Wear.
I only wonder... Why is "yellow" some ugly greenish color? I was really hoping to have a REAL yellow when I hit master. =(
