I've been at the Tailoring thing for some time now. I've been having quite a bit of fun with it, for sure. A lot of the folks I meet really make it worth it. Lately, however, I find no joy in creating the same old outfits out of the same old clothes I've been staring at for over a year now. My own outfit is just the way I like it (I've got several colorations of the same thing). Every time I change, I'm uncomfortable until I get back to my normal outfit.
As far as credits go, I'm doing alright. I've started Armorsmithing actually. Let me tell ya, looking at the big picture of effort vs. profit, smithing is the easy road. Point being, I'm not Tailoring for the money (not that I ever was). I run a shop just outside of Coronet. It's where my vendor has been for most of the time I've had one. I feel it adds to my establishment and my customers seem pleased.
Basicly, what I'm getting at is my reasons for Tailoring are shrinking some. I've got a few ideas to hopefully renew my enjoyment of the profession. I was just curious about all of your motivations for sticking with it to perhaps compliment my ideas.

My Motivation is not a constant factor it changes from month to month. Sometimes I just feel the weight of making items day after day of course its basically the same items. Yet other months i can makes clothes 24/7 coming up with new ideas etc. The key for me is to to force myself to play, if I do feel bored I try something else maybe a few combat missions or even play another game.
As to why I stick to tailor, on the whole is an easy profession unlike docs I dont have to sit down all day buffing people, and unlike other profession I dont have to run around looking for key resources all day. The offset of this is as you said the money is not great compared to other professions.
Their is also a great social reward from being a tailor and that has to be the most important factor, I would go as far to suggest that tailor is more of a role playing position rather than a real craft.
But that of course is just my view.
