Thread: A New Master Rises... (Or tries to anyway)

Okay, Iknow it's not really appropriate, spamming the Tailor Forum like this but I have to spill my guts after over 7 months of working on becoming a Tailor, on and off, with (almost ) no grinding:

I am now a certified Master Tailor!

/cheer self

/cheer self

I got hooked on Tailoring (note the intentional use of a capital "T" ) almost instantly when I started playing SWG andhave stuck with it ever since. Did I mention already that I (almost)didn't grind? I'm proud I didn't stray from the true path (too much ).

Though I did cheat a bit on the last boxes by respecing them.../blush I guess the dark side did get to me at some point

It was a long path to walk (7 months, on and off) and the end was long anticipated. Unfortunately, only my crafting tool knows how difficult it was at times (you Tailors know what it can belike... )

I often mutteredthis undermy breath at "particular" colleagues:

"Craft. Or craft not. There is no grind."

And customers:

"Kewl, huh! Uber, huh! A Tailor craves not these things."

And this kept me going and going, and from straying (too much ) from the right direction.I recited it every night before turning in:

"There is no l33t, there is conversation."

"There is no armor, there is clothing."

"There is no black, there are colors."

"There are no powergrinders, there are customers."

Anyway, I also want to thank every regularhere for their contributions to this board. I consulted it a lot, especially in the beginning. The great people here and the constructive, positive and intelligent, humorous attitude (and the absence of any and all l33t d00ds)were a great stimulus to keep on going .

Besides that, the Tailor FAQ is one of the, if notthe, best resources around for a profession (IMHO). Therefore, also a big special Thank You to those who maintain it, you know who you are

I also want to thank TheMaker and Maintainerof www.swgtailor.com. It isa great and humoristic resource which has helped me grow from ignorant to knowledgeable about Tailoring and then some

Now that I'm a Master *crosses fingers*, I hope I can finally find the time topost herea little more and to contributeto this great place myself.Considering I hardly posted here, that shouldn't be too difficult *rolls eyes*

Well, signing off with the promise that I will keep my vendors fully stocked with a great big variety of garments in all different colors. And jewelry. And do custom orders. And do BE-clothing. And make crated components. Or at least try to do this all and not go crazy...

It seems that these days "The last of the Tailors you will be" is no exception... At least on my server... Ah well... Good for them, good for me (or my bankaccount anyway ).

Thanks for your attention and sorry for all the happy faces. And now back to your regular scheduled programme (Oops, did it again).

Oh and, check the new sig. They saytheDancersdig it (not that that's the reason why I did it, though I don't mind ). And hey! *frowns* I mean the part about "Master Tailor"!

Congrats to you! I know it is a profession to love. I just got Master Tailor for the second time a week ago. I played at launch and made Master Tailor then took a year long break and came back recently. There is no other profession I would want.

Congratulations! Now the real struggle begins...getting people to wear *bright* clothes! I'm slowly converting my hubby over to not-found-in-nature colors. So far, there'snot toomuch resistance (of course, he recently became a smuggler, so he wants to look "edgy").

Hi Mauve, good to see you're back.
Word is still out on the streets of FarStar that you are the Tailor to visit if one islooking for clothes

And yes, my name might sound familair to you.

A while ago I commented you on your shop in a certain thread on this board and indicated that it's setup (as you described it at that time) sounded like the way I wanted to domy own shoptoo. I also asked if I could visit you sometime andyou warmly invited me

You also sent me a mail ingame not long after that, pointing out your fashion show (what was it, 3 months ago?). Unfortunately, I only read it long after ithad taken place (I have been on and off infrequently over the last couple off months myself)...

This is probably what you vaguely remember me from, because I haven't been posting hereboard that much since.

I did visit your shop near Anchorhead/Mos Eisley not long after, you were offline though. I liked your shop a lot. Nice layout, nice decor, lots of items on your vendors. I also went downstairs, like you told me to . I even bought a black Cargo Vest and a pair ofblack Uniform Boots (all items I couldn't make myself at that time).

I heard later that you moved to Naboo and co-founded a women's only guild named "Myst". I'm wondering if you're still there. I'd ike to visit you some time and meet you "in the flesh", so to say

I'm also curious howyour fashion showwent. Perhaps something to repeat? I will try my best to participate in a next one, now that I'm a Master too.

I remember you now

And i moved back from Naboo to Tatooine again. (naboo was too cutesy for me, and on farstar far far too empty, everything happens in tatooine it seems)

I disbanded Myst due to no one really around now that ive returned from a 2 month break.

My current waypoint is in my sig, shop is kinda in the process of restarting tho so dont expect much in the way of decor or vendor selection

The Fashion show i had one participant for so i cancelled it, (really isnt many tailors around on farstar is there?) But i did participate in another fashion contest type thing where there was a whole 3 tailors including me

I may try repeat a fashion show at some point, but not at the moment.

I lived on Naboo too for a while. It was slow... Indeed Tatooine, Eisly mostly right now, is the place to be. Coronet, which used to be the busiest place day and night, is practically deserted compared to what it used to be!

Too bad about your guild. Nice to hear you're setting up shop again. I'll certainly look you up some time soon. As soon as I have time to log in again... /sigh

Too bad also about that fashion show... I guess it's just typical of FarStar... Hardly any events and those that do go through aren't well frequented. Then there'ssomewhat of alack of Roleplayers, except for the few great but isolated communities. And yes... Hardly a tailor around these days. Let alone a shop with well-stocked vendors. In fact, shops are spread thin in general these days, not just the good ones.

I guess we'll just have to wait a bit for the new players to settle in and level up. Quite a few new faces around these days, so that's some good news at least.
